Depart from Chongqing City, Drive 1.5 Hours to Longshui Lake, Have Fun at Water Park and Eat Western Chongqing Delicacies!
What are the people of Dazu most proud of? Without a doubt, it is the World Cultural Heritage Dazu Rock Carvings! But did you know that besides the Dazu Rock Carvings, the Longshui Lake Scenic Area, 40 kilometers away from Baoding Mountain, is also a beautiful sight in western Chongqing. With its beautiful waters, lush grass, and flocks of birds, it is a favorite leisure spot for locals. A hot spring water world has been built here, consisting mainly of three parts: a hot spring center, hot spring soaking pools, and a large themed water park. It also includes a German-style indoor spa, a themed shopping area, a Western buffet area, a large lounge area, chess and cards, fitness, arcade games, tea art, VIP business club, traditional Chinese medicine therapy, SPA aromatherapy, and other leisure and entertainment experiences. All kinds of leisure and entertainment are available. This weekend, we set off from Chongqing and drove for 1.5 hours to the Dragon Seeking Legend Water Park at Longshui Lake in Dazu! Since May 30th was the opening day of the Dragon Seeking Legend Water Park this year, we couldn't miss the chance to be among the first to try it, so we set off early in the morning. After arriving at the water park, we first registered our identity information at the entrance, had our temperature taken, and showed our health codes before being allowed in. There was also a warm-up performance in the hall, with dancing and music playing tirelessly. The joyful weekend atmosphere was fully on display. The weather was clear and sunny, and from a distance we could hear the laughter of children. Entering the water park felt like being on a tropical island—tall coconut trees, real sand beaches, and crystal-clear water that made it hard to resist the urge to dive in. Walking barefoot on the beach with the swaying coconut shadows reminded me of my time living in Yalong Bay, with the wave pool right next to it. When the waves weren't active, there weren't many people in the pool. On the first day of opening, everything was a fresh start, and the wave pool was clear to the bottom. Some playful children in life jackets and swim rings were playing by the water. Once the wave-making started, more people gathered. Adults took their children to ride the waves one after another, having a great time. There was live music on stage and a DJ calling out, so both adults and children swayed and jumped to the rhythm of the waves. It was actually quite fun when you immersed yourself in it. Everyone came with friends and family, bringing along the whole household. Playing and splashing together was full of fun. Such parent-child activities undoubtedly strengthen family bonds. When you have free time, bringing your parents and children out to play and enjoy the happiness of family reunion is truly blissful. In the afternoon, there were several lively competitions. The first was an ice pop eating contest, which was very popular among children. The rules were simple: hold an ice pop in your mouth and walk back and forth quickly; the fastest one wins, with a prize of five ice pops. One person wins, the whole family eats ice pops—simple joy like that. The second competition was a parent-child game, where parents had to push their children to climb a slide, then jump through a water gate, and finally slide out of the channel. The team that finished the course in the shortest time won, and the prize was two tickets to the water park. This game really shows the trust between parents and children. Participating in such activities to strengthen communication with children is much better than giving them extra pocket money. The third event was a watermelon eating contest. Children had to eat two pieces, while adults ate three. The first to finish in each group won, and the winner could take home a watermelon weighing over ten pounds. This game also saw children eager to participate. Watching them puff out their cheeks and devour the watermelon was hilarious. In addition to these competitions, the Dragon Seeking Legend Water Park has many other water activities worth trying! Let me recommend a few must-try ones. Remember to check them in when you go. The adult ticket of 138 yuan covers all rides, so it would be a loss not to try them all! (1) Speed Sprint: This is an exhilarating, adrenaline-pumping racing slide. Up to eight people can go at once, using a sliding mat to slide over 130 meters from a height of nearly 20 meters, taking about 20 seconds. The multi-level sliding fun and speed changes will make you scream. Want to release stress? This is the one! (2) Giant Python Thrill: The giant python slide is like a huge python, consisting of a winding high-speed descent slide and a giant fully enclosed tubular slide. The unique giant vortex tube design gives a multi-layered mixed sensory experience, with thrills piling up. The speed inside the python's belly is super fast. It's a large, novel, and fun water amusement device, as well as an adrenaline-pumping journey. Promise me you'll arrange this when you come. (3) Hurricane Eye: As the name suggests, playing this is like being drawn into the eye of a hurricane. Two people form a group, ride a raft from a height of nearly 20 meters through pipe drifting, rapid descent, inertial turning, then re-enter the pipe, and finally rush into the pool. This ride perfectly combines emergency turning slides with a giant bowl. Enjoy speed and passion in the sealed slide. Recommended for couples! (4) Big Horn: The big horn is a common water ride. Four people form a group, ride a raft from a height of about 20 meters through pipe drifting, rapid descent, inertial back-and-forth sliding, then enter the pool. The raft will swing left and right in a zigzag pattern due to the water flow, giving you the ultimate feeling of inertial motion. It's also the ultimate montage experience in a water setting. (5) Giant Slide Board: A must-play. As a classic amusement device in water parks worldwide, the giant slide board emphasizes an unparalleled surfing experience. Descend rapidly in a spiral curve from a high platform, shoot toward the sky at extreme speed, then spin back into the pool on the giant slide board. Experience a thrilling adventure, feeling as if you are chasing waves in the ocean. (6) Lazy River: It is said that this ride is more fun at night. During the day, I also saw many people floating in it. Sometimes rapid, sometimes gentle, it's quite nice to drift freely on the water. (7) Exciting Water Fortress: This is a paradise for children. It has several high-pressure water cannons, flowing water mist, and interactive water play facilities. Known as the 'Water Entertainment Castle', it's the favorite play area for kids. Actually, not only children; I saw many adults also shooting water guns and running through water gates inside! (8) Wave Pool: Besides the exciting water fortress, the wave pool is where I think is most suitable for parent-child activities. Holding hands, rising and falling in the water, feeling the embrace of the waves wave by wave, it's quite pleasant. Countless little cuties swaying and stomping in the water create a particularly cheerful scene. When you're tired from playing, you can go to the second floor for the buffet. The package of water world ticket + buffet is quite cost-effective. The second-floor buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, with the most attractive being the famous local snacks from various districts and counties in western Chongqing. Here you can eat Yongchuan pickled egg with green pepper, Rongchang braised goose, Tongliang pickled chicken feet, Dazu Sanqu cold noodles, Dazu Dingjiapo potatoes, Bishan rabbit, Jiangjin green pepper chicken, Dazu tea-scented lake shrimp, Dazu Youting crucian carp, Longshui Lake tofu fish, Yongchuan Lai Pi Kou, and many more delicacies. In addition, there are Hechuan Shao Shui noodles, Dazu winter vegetable noodles, Jiangjin sesame balls, Ciqikou sour and spicy noodles, and Dianjiang stone-mill tofu. There are as many as 81 varieties of food here—a true feast! Desserts, drinks, fruits, and ice cream are also available. Both adults and children can eat happily! I really love the yellow cold noodles, and the egg tarts here are baked particularly tender, with a taste not inferior to KFC's. Besides the restaurant, the second floor also has a free lounge area where visitors can play billiards and use computers for free. At the arcade, adults can get 6 free game tokens with their wristband. That's pretty thoughtful. The Dragon Seeking Legend Water Park at Longshui Lake has just opened, so there aren't many visitors. Queuing for rides is minimal—a great time to enjoy the water activities. Find a sunny day, bring your parents and children, and go have a blast!
