Hot weather and too many people at Nanshan Caribbean? No worries! Chongqing adds a new water fun spot.

Last weekend, the Dazu Longshui Lake Water Park opened. My wife and I were lucky to be invited by friends to enter the water park on its opening day, and from then on, summer in Chongqing has another place to play in the water. Longshui Lake Water Park is located in the Dazu Longshui Lake Tourism Resort, covering an area of over 30,000 square meters, which is very large.

Last Saturday, my wife and I drove from Shiqiaopu and reached Longshui Lake Tourism Resort in just 1 hour and 30 minutes. It's not too far from the city, making it especially suitable for bringing the family on weekends to cool off and have fun.

Although it was the opening day, there were already many people playing in the water inside the park, most of them families with children. When I entered the park, I realized there were plenty of water activities, no less than the Caribbean Water World in Nanshan, and some were even more enjoyable.

On opening day, the park held several fun games like speed-eating watermelon, family speed crossing, and ice stick speed racing. Visitors eagerly participated, and the atmosphere was very cheerful and lively.

Many water attractions here are similar to those in Caribbean Water World, such as wave pools, big喇叭 (big horn), and speed slides. Longshui Lake Water Park has them all, and each attraction is highly enjoyable.

The park creates artificial waves at regular intervals, giving you the thrilling experience of battling waves in the ocean. With rhythmic DJ music, it's very exciting, making it an unbeatable spot for summer fun. When there are no waves, adults and children can swim and play in the water. The wave pool is a must-do activity. The artificial beach by the pool has lounge chairs and coconut trees, so when you're tired, you can relax on the chairs and enjoy the sun, feeling like you're on vacation in Sanya!

Although I've tried this ride before at Caribbean Water World, I still couldn't keep my eyes open the whole time—it's all about speed and adrenaline. This ride uses a mat to slide down from nearly 20 meters high along a 130-meter slide, completing the whole thing in just 20 seconds. It's extremely fast and very thrilling.

Previously, at the Caribbean, the big horn ride was for two people. Here, it's for four. The four of you must hold tight to the raft as you drift through pipes, descend rapidly, and swing back and forth from nearly 20 meters high. Everyone has to grip the raft firmly to get down safely. The whole process is very exciting and thrilling.

The big slide is a classic attraction at every water park. This ride offers an unparalleled surfing experience. You slide down swiftly in a spiral from a high platform, rush toward the sky at top speed, and spin back into the pool. I didn't even have the courage to scream—it was terrifying. After finishing, I felt like my legs weren't even mine anymore, weak and shaky.

This ride involves rafting along an artificial river. The current isn't too fast, so you can't experience the thrill of real extreme rafting, but it's especially suitable for parents with kids, letting them enjoy the feeling of drifting on a boat.

There are also many other thrilling water attractions like the mountain slide, Passion Water Village, Hurricane Eye, and Giant Python Terror. With so many rides, I recommend arriving early to try them all, since it's a one-ticket entry.

Since the water park is located within a hot spring water world, besides water rides, you can also soak in hot springs. The changing rooms, showers, and lockers are all well-equipped, so there's no need to worry about changing or storing belongings.

When you're tired outdoors, you can go to the indoor second-floor free lounge to lie down and rest. There are also free pool tables, computers, and a gym. Adults can get 6 free game tokens at the arcade with their wristband to enjoy the competitive fun of arcade games!

Longshui Lake Water Park also offers a buffet. The buffet is priced at 58 yuan per adult and 38 yuan per child. My friend and I bought a 158 yuan combo ticket that included the water park admission and a Yuxi famous snack buffet (a single water park ticket is 138 yuan).

At first, I thought the buffet price was not cheap, but when I went up to the second-floor restaurant and saw the dishes, I felt it was worth it. There was an overwhelming variety of food—we didn't know where to start. From fruits to desserts to drinks to snacks, they had everything.

After eating, we drove back the same way. Those with plenty of time can also take a side trip to see the Dazu Rock Carvings, since Longshui Lake Water Park is only a 30-minute drive from Dazu city center, making it very convenient.

The Longshui Lake Water Park has just opened recently, so the crowd is not as heavy as at Caribbean Water World. You won't have to wait in long lines for rides, making it more enjoyable. If you're looking for water fun, hurry up and plan your visit!
