After the same Japanese team created an authentic Japanese camping site on Chongqing Nanshan, this time they built a new project there—an authentic Japanese hot spring: Chongqing Nanshan Haichang Tangdu.

I couldn't wait to spend a whole day experiencing it in the first week of its opening, without missing a single detail. Here is the most detailed hot spring guide for you—you're welcome.

The entire Tangdu is housed in one building, located next to Chongqing Nanshan Haichang Caribbean, sharing the same parking lot. Provide your license plate number at checkout for free parking.

Business hours: 11:00–0:00

Price: 118 yuan/person (adult), 59 yuan/child. Buffet: 68 yuan/person (lunch, adult), 128 yuan/person (dinner, adult). Navigation: Chongqing Nanshan Haichang Tangdu (No. 35 Chongwen Road, Nanshan District), next to Chongqing Haichang Caribbean Water World.

The Japanese team led by Mr. Toshikazu Tamura created a super-authentic Japanese-style naked bath here, with floor heating, sushi, steam sauna, and several rest areas where you can lie around however you like. The staff said I was the first to wear a kimono here—who told you to recreate an indoor version of Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto? As shown in the photo below, the indoor version of Fushimi Inari Taisha, passing through it leads to the hot spring.

Because my photos in kimono went viral, the Caribbean also launched a kimono rental service on the back of that.

So I also chose a rental kimono to take new photos.

Super Japanese-style, decorated everywhere with cherry blossoms, very dreamy—from the setting to the experience, everything recreates authentic Japanese hot spring bathing. How could I not take photos in a kimono at such a cute place?

Kimono rental service is available at 30 yuan/hour.

There are also headdresses, fans, umbrellas... various photo props for rent. You can be sweet or cool, paired with high-quality kimonos just like in Japanese dramas, and there are considerate ladies to help us dress up.

As the first authentic Japanese bathhouse in Chongqing, to put it simply: naked bathing—completely nude, facing each other honestly. Following the traditional custom of hot spring bathing in Japan, it has been meticulously brought to Chongqing. From wallpaper to bean bag chairs, everything in Tangdu is imported from Japan. The interior design and selection of soft and hard furnishings were done by Japanese designers, and the water treatment system is also Japanese-imported. Wallpaper, toiletries, curtains, storage cabinets (with Japanese patterns), and in-house bathrobes (with Japanese patterns) all feature authentic Japanese design. From the early store planning and design, construction supervision, to later operation, everything was done by the Japanese team.

The wallpaper is imported from Japan, truly authentic Japanese style. Since it's honest bathing, men and women bathe separately, of course.

Enter and take off your shoes first; the staff gives you a key card to store your shoes. Shoes and clothes are stored separately—the row of lockers at the entrance is only for shoes. When leaving, go to the front desk to get a four-digit code to retrieve your shoes—this is very safe and secure. Lockers are inside the men's and women's bathing areas respectively, since you need to be fully undressed to enter the bath. Then collect a bathrobe with your wristband. You can wear this bathrobe anywhere in the building.

There are five styles: cherry blossoms, waves, wind poems (wind poetry?), Iwa paper wind chime? (there's a cute hat), and I chose my favorite—cherry blossoms.

With full floor heating, walking barefoot is not cold at all. Very comfortable.

Chongqing Nanshan Haichang Tangdu Second Floor: Front desk + Buffet + Bathing area + Coffee bar

Haichang Tangdu has three floors. The first floor is the lower bath and buffet area—you only feel you're going down after entering the bath and buffet area. The lobby on the ground level is actually the second floor, which consists of three parts: (1) Lobby: front desk, rest area, waiting area, shoe lockers, book/coffee bar; (2) Buffet area; (3) Bath area: men's bath + women's bath.

Upon entering the lobby, you'll be impressed—whether it's the pink sofas or the warm small lamps, everything is brand new, clean, and without any unnecessary items. Everything is used to its fullest, related to the Japanese meticulous personality. The rest area has a beverage counter and a large collection of manga for leisure, such as Slam Dunk and Detective Conan.

If you go to the second floor, you'll find that through the transparent glass windows you can see down to the lobby, offering a wide and comfortable view.

Food is the priority. Let me first talk about the buffet.

Lunch time: 12:00–14:00. Buffet lunch price: 68 yuan/person (adult), 48 yuan/child. Buffet dinner price: 128 yuan/person (adult).

The buffet area not only has Japanese-style wallpaper but also different levels, and large floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to watch the ginkgo leaves floating outside while eating.

Of course, the Japanese buffet mainly features Japanese cuisine. Look, my favorite miso soup—you add ingredients yourself.

There are so many varieties that I couldn't photograph them all. Here's my and my bestie's rich and messy lunch:

The sushi at Haichang Tangdu is really delicious—highly recommended.

But the desserts at Haichang are a bit disappointing and need improvement.

In the evening, you can also have sashimi platters, so the dinner buffet is more expensive. (Buffet area photographed from the second floor.)

Of course, you can also choose to soak in the hot spring and leave after a comfortable afternoon without having lunch or dinner here.

Next to Haichang Tangdu is Haichang Anping Camping Base.

After eating and drinking, follow me into the bath area. Before entering the separated men's and women's baths, you first walk through a long corridor with particularly beautiful lighting.

Passing the men's bath area, you reach the women's bath area—shy~.

Since there are too many nude bodies inside, it's inconvenient to take photos, so I'll describe it. After entering, use your wristband to open the locker, store everything, and be completely naked, leaving only the wristband on your wrist. Before entering the bath, use a ladle to scoop water from a large bucket to purify yourself, then enter the public bath. There are massage baths, two large outdoor baths, and individual tub baths. One tub can hold one person—just seeing the tub, you can't tell the size.

The shower area has Japanese-style sitting showers, identical to Japanese hot springs, as well as showering options suitable for Chinese habits.

Outdoor areas: Sky Bath (outdoor) and Cypress Bath (outdoor).

Indoor three baths: Massage Bath (indoor), Moisture Bath (indoor), and Ceramic Pot Bath (indoor).

I like the indoor massage bath the most.

All skincare and bath products on the vanity are well-known Japanese brands that women are familiar with and love, affordable and good quality—like soybean milk products.

The toilets, as usual, are Japanese smart toilet seats.

Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all from Japanese Shiseido group; hair dryers are Panasonic NA61; all toilets in the facility are TOTO smart toilets; staff greet and see off guests in Japanese. Every detail shows the dedication of the Japanese team.

Going up to the third floor, the functional areas are really abundant. As the signs show, there are two parts—left and right.

The corridor connecting left and right has transparent floor-to-ceiling windows, with bean bag chairs placed in front of them. You can sink into them and watch the ginkgo leaves floating outside—so wonderful.

Passing the corridor, you can see the children's play area, so this place is very suitable for family trips with children.

On the right side, there is a massage area with three rooms for spa. Prices are as follows:

Thai massage mixed into an authentic Japanese bathhouse—Sawatdee ka, a fusion style.

The drink area is also very comfortable, with TV, milk tea, snacks like oden, etc. The fresh squeezed juice tastes a bit strange and needs improvement.

I really love the various rest areas on the second floor—big and small bean bag chairs, horizontal and vertical—once you sit in them, you can't get up. So comfortable. I got stuck in the bean bag chair and couldn't get up.

This area is perfect for a family to watch TV and chat.

There are also automatic reclining chairs with paid mobile TV.

Japanese tatami and bean bags are super cozy.

You can also go to the outdoor rest area to enjoy the cool breeze.

Entering the outdoor area leads to various themed 'sauna' rooms:

After soaking in the hot spring, you can't miss the steam. Here, not only are there high-temperature Crystal Rock Rooms and Rock Salt Rooms, but also a low-temperature Six-Flower Cave Snow Room. Alternating hot and cold promotes blood vessel contraction and dilation, allowing blood flow to reach capillaries throughout the body, boosting metabolism, and reducing swelling and fatigue.

The Japanese believe that alternating hot and cold can improve blood circulation, so there is also an ice room where you can play with snow—it's truly a mix of ice and fire. Inside, you wear short sleeves, but this room has sub-zero temperatures.

A super-authentic Japanese hot spring is right on Nanshan. After a comfortable afternoon soaking and eating a buffet, you can go home happily.
