A Train to Spring – A 5-Day Chongqing Travel Guide. When you think of Chongqing, what comes to mind?

Setting off again to explore the 8D magical city of Chongqing.

I already booked a hotel on the high-speed train – the Jinjiang Inn Select Chongqing Railway Station Crown Grand Escalator River View Hotel. According to the description, it's very close to the popular Crown Grand Escalator and Jiefangbei.

After getting off at Chongqing North Station, I took Line 3 to Lianglukou, then transferred to the Crown Grand Escalator at Exit 3. Wow, my first time on such a long escalator – my legs were shaking a bit. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk lady was very nice; she upgraded my room for free and recommended hot pot restaurants near Jiefangbei.

Jiefangbei is an iconic landmark of Chongqing. Next to it is Bayi Good Food Street, with so many delicious things – hot and sour rice noodles, lamb skewers, Mountain City small tangyuan, and ice jelly. Haha, all the food was right in front of me.

Hongya Cave: The real-life version of Spirited Away, a famous Chongqing attraction. The Little Swan hot pot inside Hongya Cave was pretty good. Hehe, enjoying great food and drinks while admiring the beautiful view of Hongya Cave.

Yangtze River Cableway: A beautiful scenic line in Chongqing. If you want to keep the ticket as a souvenir, you can buy it at the manual ticket counter.

Chaotianmen: The confluence of the Jialing River and the Yangtze River. I recommend taking a taxi there. You can see many 'Mountain City Porters' at Chaotianmen Dock.

Liziba Light Rail Through Building: A 3-minute walk from the hotel to catch Bus 808 to Liziba. Haha, on site I saw a lady seemingly 'swallowing' a train – taking photos! For lunch, you can try the Liangshan chicken at Liziba.

Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Huxi Campus: From Liziba, take Line 2 to Daping, then transfer to Metro Line 1 to Daxuecheng. The Luo Zhongli Art Museum is now open. The colorful terraces and tunnels are gorgeous.

In the evening, head to Guanyinqiao Ninth Street to experience Chongqing's nightlife. Gather some friends and chat freely.

Ciqikou – Zhazi Cave: A 3-minute walk from the hotel to the Crown Grand Escalator, then Metro Line 1 directly to Ciqikou. Ciqikou has tons of delicious food. The line for Chen Mahua was huge. Then try Deng Mangzi hot pot – the taste is fantastic, but if you can't handle spicy food, I recommend ordering a yuanyang (split) hot pot.

Zhazi Cave is very close to Ciqikou. You can take a sightseeing car directly to Baigongguan and Zhazi Cave, where Little Radish Head and General Yang Hucheng were once imprisoned.

Raffles City – Two Rivers Cruise: From Ciqikou, take Metro Line 1 to Jiaochangkou, then walk or take a taxi to Chaotianmen Dock to board a cruise ship. It's a different way to experience the beauty of Chongqing's night scenery.

Zhongshuge Bookstore – Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (Huangjueping Campus) – Transportation Teahouse – Yihuali Night View Park. From here you can overlook the entire Yuzhong Peninsula.

On the last day, I chose a popular check-in spot close to the hotel – Creative Industry Park No. 2. You can take a taxi directly from the hotel entrance for about 15 yuan. I searched on Baidu for the Eling Creative Industry Park No. 2 area and found another Jinjiang Inn next to Eling Metro Station. Hehe, I'll try it next time – the location is great, only a 3-minute walk from the metro.
