I visited Chongqing after the National Day holiday to avoid the crowds. I had been seeing this internet-famous city on Douyin. I chose to stay near Eling Park in the Yuzhong District of Chongqing (the map above marks Eling Park roughly at position 3). Why did I choose this place? It was a coincidence. When I opened the map of Chongqing to plan, I saw that the Yuzhong Peninsula, surrounded by the Jialing River and the Yangtze River, looked like a goose's head. Right at the thinnest part of the goose neck was Eling Park (also refer to the map above). As a southerner who believes in feng shui, I thought this was a feng shui treasure spot—mountains govern people, water brings wealth. This place sits on the highest mountain in downtown Chongqing, flanked by the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers—a dragon's vein in feng shui terms. I decisively chose to stay here. Since it is the highest point of the Yuzhong Peninsula, there were not many cost-effective hotels nearby, so I finally chose Jinjiang Inn, where I had stayed before.
It was already 4:00 PM when I arrived at the hotel from the airport. Flying is quite draining. But stepping into the lobby of Jinjiang Inn made me feel refreshed—the name itself is auspicious! Look at the picture below—it feels like my luck is about to turn around! A win-win for career and love. Only kids make choices; I want all the six surprises mentioned above!
I quite like the lobby style of Jinjiang Inn. The small decorations are thoughtfully placed, not losing out to boutique guesthouses near scenic spots. I have to say the hotel staff has a refined artistic taste. Standing in the lobby lounge area, you can overlook the Yangtze River view—it has a broad vista. The rooms are clean, tidy, and have a Nordic style. The key highlight is that the windows in the rooms are very wide. When you pull open the screen, you are greeted by the Yangtze River scenery. It feels like the entire hotel is a free viewing platform, something you wouldn't experience in hotels in other cities.
Even more magical, the front desk specifically reminded me that the lobby I was in was on the 4th floor, meaning when you go out to take a car, you need to go to the hotel's 4th floor, not the 1st floor. Douyin really didn't lie to me. Chongqing is truly interesting.
Right next to the hotel are Eling Park and Fotuguan Park, the highest points on the Yuzhong Peninsula. Let me tell you a little secret: from the observation deck at Fotuguan Park, you can see the Liziba light rail passing through the building from another angle.
900 meters from the hotel is Creative No.2 Factory. The front desk girl said that the movie "From Your Whole World Passing By" was filmed there. I haven't seen that movie, so I'm not familiar with it. I took a stroll around. There were mostly young people, couples, and ladies in Hanfu. There are many exhibitions and artistic works. You can pretend to be an artistic youth, take photos, check in, post some contemplative words about life to enrich your Moments—definitely taking your coolness to another level!
As for other attractions, everyone knows about them. A quick search on Weibo will give you tons of introductions: Jiefangbei, Hongya Cave, Crown Escalator, Yangtze River Cableway, etc. They are indeed as described and very worth visiting. If you want to learn more about these attractions, I recommend reading guides written by other experts. These spots are all within a half-hour clockwise radius around Eling Park, so I won't write about them—go experience them yourself!
Finally, I wish everyone in Chongqing double happiness in career and love. Mountain City Chongqing, double celebration!
