Exploring the Impressions of Bashan and Shushui, Enjoying the Hotel to the Fullest

Among all cities in China, my favorite is Chongqing! I love its bold and grand spirit! This time I came to the renowned luxurious Regent Chongqing, which is the second hotel of the Regent brand in mainland China, located in Jiangbeizui with a magnificent view of the convergence of two rivers.

I really like the color scheme and atmosphere of the room. The concealed lighting gives a relaxing and noble feeling. Many places highlight Chinese elements: for example, a classical wooden screen serves as the visual center; the furniture display uses dark gold special crackle paint and red aged lacquer, perfectly showcasing the mysterious and dignified charm of the East; while the TV cabinet and minibar are designed with hidden features, seamlessly blending business and leisure.

It's worth mentioning that the minibar is stocked with a variety of snacks and drinks, all complimentary (remember to try Tianfu Cola), and the room attendant will automatically replenish them daily. For many travelers on business trips in a hurry, the minibar also contains five types of Chongqing-style snacks that can be taken home as local specialties.

After getting settled, I headed to the Two Rivers Bar for a short rest. Here, there are waterside pavilions with a mountain city skyline, accompanied by soft lighting. Leaning on the railing, drinking in the breeze, and enjoying the romance of Hongya Cliff standing by the Jialing River, I couldn't help but sigh—if you want to chat with a few friends late into the night, this is definitely the most comfortable space to open your heart.

The room type I stayed in this time includes executive privileges at the Regent Club. From a warming breakfast to exquisite afternoon tea and evening cocktails, there are five different themes a day. Without leaving the hotel, you can enjoy a rich and fulfilling time.

After having enough food and drink, you can enjoy a bath with three options: lemon 🍋, rose 🌹, and bubble bath 🛁. With just one request, the butler will prepare it for you before you return—romantic, warm, comfortable, and relaxing!

Many people only see the hotel as a place to rest, but I must say that Regent Chongqing is a hotel full of design and worth exploring. It invited the internationally renowned LTW design company to create an extraordinary story. As you stroll through, don't miss the following classic spots:

1. **"Roof Tiles"**: As you enter the lobby, you'll see a two-story-high art wall made of stacked tiles handmade in Jingdezhen, looking like an aerial view of the continuous mountain city rooftops.

2. **"Camellia"**: It is the city flower of Chongqing and can be spotted frequently in the hotel. For example, in the center of the lattice screen in the lobby, there is a cloisonné pattern outlined in gold; and above the banquet hall private room, there is a huge camellia.

3. **"Cultural Screens"**: In the Robbin's Steakhouse on the second floor, four copper art screens depicting cityscapes perfectly portray the dock culture, hotpot culture, stair culture, and mountain climbing scenes.

4. **"Bird-shaped Zun"**: In the Regent Chinese Restaurant, a large three-dimensional crystal ornament caught my attention. Its inspiration comes from the bronze bird-shaped zun unearthed at Sanxingdui. The beautiful food and beautiful vessels are related in form and meaning, continuing and inheriting the culture of Shu.

5. **"Arsenal"**: Near the multi-functional meeting area, leftover gears and other components from an arsenal are used as decorations, symbolizing the eternal remembrance of the spirit of the Anti-Japanese War and maintaining the integrity of the wartime capital.

6. **"Chili Peppers"**: On the banquet hall floor, naturally it strongly connects with Chongqing's most vivid taste memory 🌶️! The designer ingeniously blends red chili oil with Chongqing's natural landscapes and city patterns.

This time I visited just before Christmas, and the hotel was filled with a joyful atmosphere and warm decorations. I dare say this hotel has the most Christmas trees!—Almost every public space has one, with large gift boxes piled underneath. Decorations like Santa Claus, reindeer, and holly berries are everywhere on the tables.

Bring your loved ones to Regent Chongqing for Christmas! Remember to dine at Robbin's Steakhouse—it's a gold medal restaurant that will ignite the passion and romance deep in your hearts. You can also follow my suggestion: "Explore cultural marks and enjoy the Regent Club's five meals a day treatment." This way, you don't need to run around; just stay in the hotel and enjoy a holiday full of fun.

Let me share the dishes I ordered: M6 ribeye steak, Boston lobster, mushroom abalone, and a variety of rich salads and desserts. Both the dishes and the dining ritual are unforgettable. I highly recommend this dish: The M6 ribeye steak—the chef is super nice, and when you sit down, he chats with you, introducing the dishes and the stories behind the ingredients. Then the "main character" arrives. Looking closely, the fat marbling is as even as marble, which is the source of its tenderness, juiciness, and rich fat aroma. Because this part of the meat is so tender, it is recommended to cook it only to medium-rare to preserve the original texture. Choosing teppanyaki means enjoying the cooking process. The chef's spatula flies up and down, and the steak dances in elegant arcs. After lightly drizzling a few drops of oil, he covers it with a copper lid. I could already imagine the beef soaking in the oil and the aroma steaming up. Then the server brings a box of custom Laguiole steak knives, and everyone can choose their favorite one—very ceremonial. Cutting a piece and tasting it, the juice bursts in the mouth. All the essence is locked in the meat's texture. Paired with a special garlic sauce, the flavors complement each other perfectly, leaving you wanting more. The M6 grade, in my opinion, has just the right amount of fat—rich aroma, moist texture, but not too greasy. By the way, for those who prefer healthy and fresh food, Robbin's Steakhouse also offers dozens of appetizer vegetable and fruit salads. The post-meal desserts are exquisitely delicious. The hotel is also very considerate, offering room service. With just one phone call, the staff will bring a cart to your room, allowing you to enjoy the meal by the window. I ordered New Zealand lamb chops and seafood salad—both looked and tasted outstanding.

A few useful tips for everyone:

1. There is a small box on the bedside table. When opened, one side is neatly packed with various office supplies, so complete that it can cure OCD. The other side contains a thick service guide, which includes room service menus and various travel tips. Even if you want to view the river view opposite, you can use the "Regent One-Touch" to summon a telescope (one of the hotel's provided services).

2. The room also has a butler cabinet. You can put clothes that need washing here, and the butler will take them to clean and later return them to the cabinet. Or, if you are not convenient to open the door, or you are out, the butler cabinet allows contactless exchange, which is especially convenient during the pandemic.

3. In the bathroom, there is a small card listing over 30 kinds of complimentary or loanable daily necessities, including Dyson hairdryer, face masks, steam eye masks, etc. It's incredibly thoughtful. In the past, when I traveled on business and forgot something, I had to buy them temporarily, ending up with a stockpile of razors, nail clippers, etc.

4. Those who exercise regularly can go to the hotel's gym. Even here, the Regent service is thoughtful—they even placed a Christmas tree, making your run full of atmosphere. The pool has an infinity edge design, and through the window, you can overlook the beautiful Jialing River.

After a two-day experience, I feel that Regent Chongqing perfectly conveys the Regent Group's philosophy: creating a humanistic and elegant environment, complemented by unparalleled comfort and the unique sincere service of Asia, setting a benchmark for the industry and leading the trend!
