Wandering Among Mountains and Rivers

In 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic persisted, and various regions strengthened their prevention and control efforts. Before we knew it, December arrived, and the originally planned trip to Tibet in the autumn of this year could not be realized. My travels, which had continued for six years, were temporarily interrupted. Over these six years, I have visited many places, seen many landscapes, and tasted many local specialties, which have broadened my horizons and expanded my mind. Wherever I went, I took many photos while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Recently, I reorganised these photos and selected some to compile into an album to record my six years of travel life.

Due to limited vacation time in 2016, my travel period was relatively short. The destinations I chose were only Guilin, Yangshuo, Beihai, and Weizhou Island in Guangxi.

In 2017, the travel destination was chosen after listening to the recommendation of an elderly couple I met by chance on a journey. Ultimately, I decided on the itinerary of Enshi, Shennongjia, and a cruise on the Three Gorges.

In 2018, I had a half-month vacation, which gave me plenty of time. I chose a trip to the glaciers and snowy mountains of western Sichuan that I had always wanted to see.

In 2019, I arranged two trips. One was to Gulangyu Island in Xiamen during the Spring Festival holiday. The other, using my vacation time, started with a visit to Zhangjiajie in Hunan, then entered Guizhou, and finally went to Wenshan in Yunnan to visit friends.

The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 brought great uncertainty to travel. Initially, I only planned to go to Qingdao, which is relatively close to Tianjin. Later, seeing that the domestic epidemic was relatively stable, and with lingering memories of the food in Chengdu and Yunnan, I decided to head from Qingdao to Mount Emei, as well as Shangri-La, Xishuangbanna, and Tengchong in Yunnan. Unfortunately, I received a notice while in Xishuangbanna that the already-booked flight to Tengchong was temporarily cancelled, so I had to cancel the Tengchong trip and return to Tianjin from Xishuangbanna via Kunming. After returning to Tianjin, I went to Hainan twice due to some matters. Although things did not go as well as hoped, I took these two opportunities to visit some scenic spots along the east coast of Hainan.
