Travel Notes on Dubai - Luxury Destination in June 2024

At the onset of the hot season (summer) of the UAE, which has a tropical desert climate, we traveled here feeling the intense heat. We visited four emirates: the capital Abu Dhabi, Dubai (the economic and financial center of the Middle East), Sharjah (a cultural city in the Middle East), and Ajman (the smallest member emirate of the UAE).

Before the trip, I learned some precautions for traveling to Dubai. The most important is to respect local religious and cultural customs and avoid any offensive behavior. This applies to dress, speech, photography, dining, etc. I won't elaborate here, as there is plenty of reference online.

The temperature in the UAE is very high, generally around 40-45°C during the day, with intense sunlight, like being grilled. In addition to drinking plenty of water, we used Huoxiang Zhengqi liquid to prevent heatstroke and fever patches to cool down.

On the evening of June 26, we gathered at Beijing Capital Airport. At 0:55 on June 27, we took Emirates flight EK307 and landed in Dubai at 4:50 local time on June 27. On that day, we marveled at the luxury of Dubai and Abu Dhabi: in Dubai, we visited the Dubai Frame and the Burj Al Arab; in Abu Dhabi, we visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Emirates Palace (Presidential Palace), and the eight-star Emirates Palace Hotel for gold leaf afternoon tea. We also stopped at Jumeirah Beach, the Car Park, and the Abu Dhabi Heritage Village. Overnight at the Al Wahda Millennium Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

On June 28, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, we experienced art and life. In Abu Dhabi, we visited the Louvre on the artificial island; in Dubai, we had a hand-grabbed seafood lunch, visited the Gold Souk, wandered through the Iranian town, and took a boat ride on Dubai Creek. Overnight at Movenpick Apartments Bur Dubai.

On June 29, in Dubai, we experienced world-class attractions. We took a stretch luxury car for a city tour, visited Atlantis, explored the world's largest shopping mall, the BUBAI MALL, ascended the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa, and went to the Palm Jumeirah observation deck to see the eighth wonder, the Palm Jumeirah. We also visited the Jumeirah Mosque and stopped at La Mer Beach.

On June 30, in Dubai, Ajman, and Sharjah, we experienced history and culture. In Sharjah, we stopped at the Quran Roundabout; in Ajman, we strolled on the beach; in Sharjah, we visited the Museum of Islamic Civilization, the Art Museum, and walked through the Souq Al Arsah (Blue Souk). In the evening, we experienced desert dune bashing, enjoyed a camp show, and had a desert dinner.

On July 1, in Dubai, we enjoyed daily life. In the morning, we swam in the hotel's outdoor pool; in the afternoon, we walked around Dubai Creek Park, visited K.M. TRADING SHOPPING CENTRE, and had McDonald's for dinner.

On July 2, Dubai to Beijing. After breakfast, we went to Dubai International Airport. At 11:13 local time, we took Emirates flight EK308 and landed at Beijing Capital Airport at 22:13 Beijing time, marking the end of the trip.
