CC's Travel Diary
When you think of the Middle East, does a golden desert and mysterious palaces come to mind? But when you set foot in Dubai, you'll find that it's far more futuristic than you imagined.
Dubai, the pearl of the UAE, captivates with its stunning modern architecture, luxurious shopping experiences, spectacular desert adventures, and unique cultural fusion, making it an increasingly popular destination for Chinese travelers.
I. Must-Visit Attractions: If you come to Dubai, don't miss these places!
1. Burj Khalifa
Don't miss the world's tallest building! Head to the observation deck on the 124th floor for a panoramic view of the city and the Arabian Gulf. It's recommended to book tickets online in advance to avoid peak queues.
2. Dubai Mall
Not just a shopping paradise, it also features a massive aquarium, a VR theme park, and an ice rink. Even if you don't shop, just wandering around is a dazzling experience.
3. Dubai Fountain
Located at the base of Burj Khalifa, the nightly light and music fountain show is a visual feast. It's free to watch and one of the best-value experiences in Dubai!
4. Palm Jumeirah & Atlantis The Palm
Take the monorail into this man-made wonder, stay at or visit Atlantis The Palm, and experience the Lost Chambers Aquarium and Aquaventure Waterpark.
5. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi (recommended as a day trip)
If time permits, join a day trip to Abu Dhabi from Dubai to visit one of the world's most beautiful mosques, where white marble and golden domes complement each other.
II. Activities: More than just sightseeing, there's plenty to do!
Ride a 4x4 off-road vehicle across the golden sand dunes, then try camel riding, sandboarding, watch belly dancing, and enjoy Middle Eastern barbecue – a true Arabian experience.
Dubai Creek Abra Ride
For just one dirham, you can take a traditional wooden boat and admire the old town, feeling like you've stepped back in time.
Skydive Dubai
Looking for an adrenaline rush? Skydive over Palm Jumeirah and feel the thrill of wind and excitement! (Book in advance.)
III. Food Recommendations: A storm of Middle Eastern spices
Shawarma
A local version of a meat wrap, with garlic sauce – one bite is incredibly satisfying.
Grilled Lamb Chops & Grilled Chicken
Highly recommend Al Hallab or Al Safadi for authentic, affordable Middle Eastern flavors.
Dubai Michelin Dining
Don't overlook Dubai's high-end restaurants like Trèsind Studio and Ossiano, which offer not just a treat for the taste buds but a blend of visual art and culinary delight.
IV. Travel Tips
Visa: Chinese passport holders can apply for an eVisa, usually processed within 3–5 working days.
Dress Code: Respect local culture – avoid overly revealing clothing in public; note dress requirements when visiting mosques.
Best Time to Travel: The most pleasant weather is from November to March, ideal for outdoor activities.
Currency & Payment: The local currency is the dirham (AED), but many places accept Alipay and WeChat Pay, which is very convenient.
Language: English is widely spoken, so communication is easy.
