Stay at Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort and Embrace a Spring Vacation
Talking about this trip
Months of staying at home felt excruciatingly long, and it almost made me forget the last time I had an outing with my son. Watching us trapped at home by the smog, I kept hoping it would disperse soon so we could go out and play to our hearts' content.
Spring is a season full of hope. With hope, there is no disappointment. In this season of warm sunshine and blooming flowers, we finally got the chance to step out.
Spring, when everything grows, is bursting with greenery, and every corner is filled with nature's fresh breath. I wonder if you feel the same as I do—a strong desire to immerse yourself in nature and replenish your energy.
To experience nature's breath and spend more time with family, a hot spring resort is the best choice. Guangzhou's surrounding cities have many types of resorts. After careful comparison, we finally chose this newly opened Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort.
**First Impressions of Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort**
Guangzhou Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort is located in Paitan Town, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou, adjacent to the Baishuizhai Scenic Area and closely connected to Nankun Mountain. Surrounded by mountains, with lush green hills and clear waters, the air is rich in negative oxygen ions. It is known as the "City Haven" — the back garden of Guangzhou.
The resort inherits the elegant lineage of international hot spring resorts, built in Southeast Asian style and positioned as a 5-star hot spring leisure resort.
Here, you can breathe in the fresh air of nature to your heart's content and enjoy the simplest joys bestowed by the natural world.
Driving from home, the road was smooth all the way, and we arrived at the hotel in less than two hours. Stepping into the lobby, I was instantly captivated by its majestic presence. The spacious lobby integrates local cultural characteristics with forest landscapes, making you feel as if you are in the midst of a forest.
Unique screens separate the lobby from the lounge bar. Minimalist lounge furniture and refined decoration exude a sense of understated luxury. A bookshelf nearby is filled with a variety of books, ensuring that resting guests won't feel bored. The warm lighting makes the entire space just right—comfortable.
**Happy Vacation Time Starts with a Delicate Afternoon Tea**
Since it's a vacation, how can we miss an exquisite afternoon tea?
We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, checked in, and then headed to the restaurant to enjoy afternoon tea.
Walking into the restaurant, the simple yet elegant décor instantly impressed us. Lush greenery added a touch of freshness. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows—the warm light of spring. In that moment, I felt an extra sense of warmth in this new environment.
Through the glass windows, lush green trees were reflected in the water with their varying heights, and a small boat floated on the water, creating a picturesque scene. Suddenly, a poem by Wang Wei came to mind: "A gentle breeze caresses the willows, clear water mirrors the pink peach blossoms. A boat glides on the emerald waves, as if one were wandering in a painting." Although there were no willows or peach blossoms, the reflections of trees, flowers, and plants were just as enchanting. If we were sitting in that little boat, gazing at the beautiful scenery before us, would we not also feel as if we were traveling within a painting?
The afternoon sun was warm and cozy. A delicate, tempting afternoon tea was exactly what we needed to match such a wonderful moment.
Both Chinese pastries and Western desserts were exquisitely presented, from the arrangement to the tableware. The hotel's pastry team had crafted a variety of adorable pastries, allowing you and your family or friends to enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the gentle spring sunshine.
Find a quiet corner, a cup of tea, a pastry, and share a relaxing afternoon tea with your loved ones, savoring your own vacation time.
**What to Do at Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort?**
Living in the city for so long, don't we all dream of having our own little garden? To pick fresh fruits and vegetables with family and friends during the harvest season?
At Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort, there is such a garden, planted with seasonal vegetables. The field was full of blooming rapeseed flowers, a sea of golden yellow, truly a splendid sight.
Eggplants grew in neat rows, the long purple fruits plump and full. Yangyang, seeing so many eggplants for the first time, was overjoyed. He happily ran into the field and began picking, and before we knew it, he had filled a basket.
Stepping into the garden with your child, getting close to nature, and picking to your heart's content—experiencing the joy of giving and reaping—is truly meaningful. The feeling is just wonderful!
While picking in the field, do you, like me, recall your distant hometown and a childhood you can never return to? Although we can't live a garden-picking life in the city like we did when we were young, whenever we have time, we should bring our children out more often to places like Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort, where they can experience the joy of getting back to nature.
"Let us row the oars, our little boat pushes through the waves..."
Whenever this song comes to mind, don't you suddenly feel like going boating?
Nestled beside mountains and a lake, Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort offers a wide range of leisure and entertainment options. Its unique geographical environment has created Tianyang Lake, a natural water sports paradise. So, besides the fun garden-picking experience, there is also boating on the lake and a series of water activities. If you have the urge to go boating, this place will surely satisfy you.
On Tianyang Lake, there are various ways to have fun: kayaking, motorized sightseeing boats, water bikes, SUP paddleboards, floating lounge chairs, and more. You can freely choose your favorite activity and enjoy yourself to the fullest.
We chose a water-bike-style boat that could seat three people. Sitting in the boat, we leisurely pedaled the wheels and soaked in the sunshine and gentle breeze of that moment.
Surrounded by towering mountains, with green hills and clear waters, the air was filled with negative ions. A breeze swept across the lake, creating rippling waves that brushed our cheeks with the tenderness of spring. Everything spoke of the beauty of nature.
**Tips**
1. Life jackets are mandatory for all lake activities.
2. During the experience, try not to carry valuables with you. You can leave them with the staff or in your room to avoid dropping them into the lake.
As a family-friendly hot spring resort, the hotel has also created a small world dedicated to children. Play facilities like ball pits and trampolines can make kids happy.
Slides, ball pits, trampolines—though small, the area is well-equipped. Parents bringing their children here don't have to worry about where their kids can have fun. You can safely let them play here.
Children's world is really simple. As long as there is a place where they can play to their heart's content, they are easily satisfied. Yangyang also entered his entertainment mode. Seeing him so happy, I could tell he had been a bit stifled after staying at home for so long.
**A Must-Experience Hot Spring Bath**
Since it's called Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort, hot springs are naturally the highlight.
Forest Sea Hotel has around 350 luxurious rooms, each equipped with an indoor wellness hot spring bath, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing soak without leaving your room.
Of course, the hotel also boasts an extensive outdoor hot spring area, featuring unique baths such as treehouse aerial hot springs, lantern-shaped pool hot springs, and isolated island hot springs. The refreshing garden design lets you embrace nature.
In the hot spring area, what attracted me most was the most distinctive lantern pool. Surrounded by greenery and adorned with flowers, it was full of Instagram-worthy charm—the most beautiful hot spring pool I've ever seen. In such an atmospheric setting, letting your body and soul intimately connect with nature probably releases so much dopamine that joy overflows.
The hot spring center also has an indoor heated swimming pool, a spa center, an outdoor swimming pool, and more. It also offers abundant leisure facilities, water amusement facilities, karaoke areas, and a wealth of entertainment services, so you won't want to leave once you're here.
**Where to Stay at Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort?**
Designed in Southeast Asian style, Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort provides elegant and comfortable experiences with the management standards of an international 5-star hot spring leisure resort. The hotel offers expansive views, enchanting primeval forest scenery, a natural oxygen bar with fresh air, and distant views of the Baishuizhai Waterfall, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful nature at all times.
The hotel features a variety of room types, including luxurious rooms, suites, duplex family-themed rooms, and lavish themed villas, all with stylish, minimalist human-oriented design to meet the diverse needs of different travelers.
Speaking of family vacations, family rooms are a must-mention. We stayed in an ocean-themed duplex family room. The lower floor was the adults' room with a separate wet and dry bathroom, and the upper floor was the children's room, also with a separate bathroom. The moment we saw the serene blue, with ocean-themed elements on the walls, it instantly gave us a sense of relaxation.
The gentle blue reminded us of the azure sea. The wall decorations—small fish, starfish, shells, oars—every detail was so interesting, as if we were swimming in the ocean. Innately curious Yangyang couldn't wait to explore every corner of the room and blurted out, "I wish I could live here every day!" It seems every child has a dream of the sea.
The bathroom was also full of childlike fun. The swimming fish and bubbles on the wall—I think every kid would love taking a bath there. The washbasin counter was stocked with adorable toiletries for children. Seeing these cute things, even an adult's inner child would burst out.
Outside the door was a private hot spring bath, supplied with authentic radon-rich metasilicate hot spring water. With complete privacy, you can enjoy a relaxing soak without leaving your room, open your heart with your family, and freely chat, savoring this delightful ocean-themed vacation time.
Since we can't swim in the real ocean for now, why not bring your family to this "ocean world" and explore the mysteries of the sea?
Besides the ocean-themed rooms, there are also treehouse-themed and starry-sky-themed rooms. Each unique theme will make you and your child never want to leave.
The forest-themed room with a built-in slide—I bet no child can resist it. With natural wood construction, refreshing green tones, and animal wall murals, you instantly step into a forest. Even adults won't refuse being surrounded by nature like this.
The starry-sky theme room with a space tunnel net is sure to delight children. Upon entering, the mysterious deep blue and ubiquitous cosmic elements instantly transport you into outer space. So dreamy, the feeling of living in space is simply awesome!
**What to Eat at Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort?**
As a resort hotel, dining, drinking, and entertainment are essential. As a foodie, I consider food the soul of travel. So, what delicious food does Forest Sea Hotel offer? Follow my footsteps to satisfy your taste buds!
The hotel offers diverse dining services. The all-day Joyful Restaurant serves trendy Western cuisine, ready to satisfy your cravings at any time. The elegantly rustic Chinese restaurant specializes in Cantonese dishes, fusion Chinese-Western cuisine, and original eco-healthy meals. Distinctive culinary delights cater to every guest.
The all-day Joyful Restaurant provides Chinese and Western breakfasts, specialty snacks, and Western-style meals, all fresh and authentic. We had breakfast at the Joyful Restaurant and lunch and dinner at the Chinese restaurant.
The breakfast here was incredibly rich, with Cantonese dim sum, noodles, bread, fruits, and more—a wide variety of Chinese and Western options, dozens of choices dazzling your eyes. The kids were thrilled and eagerly grabbed plates to pick their favorite foods.
At the Chinese restaurant, we sampled their specialty: the "Stone Mine Lake Eco Fish Feast." The chef turned one fish into four different dishes: Tai Chi-style steamed fish head, boneless fish skillfully prepared, eight-flavor crispy fish belly, and tangerine peel fish intestine baked eggs... Each dish was aromatic and flavorful. You won't neglect your taste buds while having fun; treat yourself to the most delicious specialty dishes.
There were also authentic local dishes like handmade meatballs steamed with silk melon, eggplant braised with garlic and fermented black beans, and old-style stewed country pumpkin... All these reminded us of home flavors. Every dish made us unable to stop eating. Even seemingly ordinary home-style stir-fries were excellent in color, aroma, and taste, showcasing the chef's skills and treating us to a visual and gustatory feast.
Late spring, a hot-spring-themed, colorful vacation, all at Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort.
