Did you know there’s a place in Guangdong where you can enjoy the poetic beauty of 'a waterfall suspended like a river afar'? That place is Baishuizhai Jiahua Hot Spring Hotel, with the magnificent Baishuizhai waterfall hanging right on the mountain nearby.
A little over an hour's drive from downtown Guangzhou brings you to Baishuizhai. In this still balmy early autumn, why not treat yourself to some blissful days at the Guangzhou Baishuizhai Jiahua Hot Spring Hotel?
The hotel lobby exudes an artistic ambiance. Two striking paintings, 'Jiangshan Changyi Tu' (A Carefree Journey through Mountains and Rivers) and 'Shanqing Diecui Xiu Lingnan' (Lush Green Mountains Embellishing Lingnan), are truly majestic. The exquisite 'Nine Ruyi' glass artwork, created by an internationally renowned artist, incorporates the traditional symbolism of 'nine' for longevity and 'fish' for auspiciousness and abundance. Nine lifelike leaping fish are encircled by waves, forming a glass masterpiece that represents good fortune and joy.

The Valley Hot Springs are nestled among karst caves and lush greenery, with panoramic mountain views. It’s divided into four zones: a Traditional Chinese Medicine health zone, a normal-temperature water play area, a cave natural spring zone, and a mountaintop hot spring zone, with over 55 different pools in total.
The hotel’s hot spring water comes from the high-quality springs of the Baishuizhai scenic area, with temperatures of 52–63°C. It is a metasilicate spring rich in trace elements like fluoride, lithium, zinc, potassium, chlorine, calcium, and magnesium, which are beneficial for health. It softens skin cuticles, smooths the skin, fights aging, helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulates nervous system disorders—making it a health, therapeutic, and beauty hot spring mineral water.
Near each pool, there’s herbal tea for cooling down, as well as hot and warm water. Hot towels can be changed at any time, and attendants serve tea thoughtfully.
When you’re tired from soaking, you can take a sauna, lie on the stone bed spa to relieve fatigue, or grab a snack at the on-site restaurant.
If the outdoor weather isn’t ideal, you can take shelter in the cave! It’s cool in summer and warm in winter inside. The cave hot spring pool is about 1,500 square meters, quite spacious. As I walked through the cave tunnel, I felt I’d been walking a long time and still hadn’t reached the end—was I just too excited? So much so that it felt like forever!
Inside there are various specialty pools (a large massage pool, fish therapy pool, bubble pool, hot-and-cold pool, etc.) and several natural hot spring pools.
The cave is spacious and imposing, with stalactites and stalagmites in diverse shapes hanging from the ceiling or rising from the ground in a stunning display.
There are many ways to enjoy the water in summer—simply brewing a cup of floral tea by the pool is a perfectly comfortable way to spend an afternoon!
You can also enjoy spa treatments, board games, beauty and hair services, shopping, the indoor pool, and the gym. But outdoors is where the real fun is—you can go down slides, swing, raft, swim, and splash around.
After nightfall is the best time for a hot spring soak—without the direct sun, the evenings are even more serene.
From the infinity pool, you can overlook the many soaking pools around and see the lights in the guest rooms, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
In addition to the wonderfully relaxing outdoor pools, the hotel also has a gym—fitness enthusiasts shouldn’t miss it.
The Valley Spa will give you unparalleled relaxation, rescuing skin that’s been tormented by the summer sun, or simply easing your shoulders and neck—pure comfort!
Of course, a vacation isn’t complete without delicious food to soothe body and soul. Skilled chefs cook up local and international breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes live—giving you the homely feel of your own kitchen even when away from home.
At the Peak View Western Restaurant, you can watch the chefs’ impressive skills while tasting specialties from around the world, and see the preparation of seasonal, local, and international dishes—it’s like the main kitchen of a grand mansion.
During dinner, there’s live singing by male and female vocalists, allowing you to savor your meal against a background of gentle, cheerful music.
The Peak View Western Restaurant is adjacent to the main building and the hot spring pools, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views of the mountains—especially at sunset, it’s like a painting.
