My boyfriend and I drove from Zengcheng, and arrived at our destination around six in the evening. We had booked a guesthouse called “归阁” online in advance. After parking the car, we immediately went to check in. Before we even got close, I was deeply attracted to it. It's located at the end of a century-old blue brick alley in 广州翼?空港文旅小镇. Its design style really fulfilled my imagination of countryside pastoral life, full of poetic charm.
Eagerly, we stepped into the room. What greeted us were simple tables and chairs, exquisite tea sets, a mini fridge, smart speakers, chic light fixtures, forest-style fabric curtains, comfortable bedding, beautifully embroidered throw pillows, and wall murals rich in traditional Chinese style... We lay on the bed, looking at the elegant decor, immersing ourselves in the world of music, quietly savoring our time together. The blend of modern and classical added a unique color to 归阁 that sets it apart from other guesthouses.
Under the glass window, the guesthouse thoughtfully set up a tea table. It's very comfortable to admire the scenery outside from here. Seeing the clear water and blue sky, along with the unique architecture inside the park, made me feel totally healed. My boyfriend and I sat at the tea table, brewed a pot of tea, listened to music, teased each other about our embarrassing moments, and took various photos. With planes coming and going in the azure sky, we enjoyed the sweetness of being together, a life peaceful and beautiful.
On the first floor of 归阁, there is a minimalist industrial-style diner, simple and bright. This diner is a major highlight of 归阁. The chef's cooking skills are excellent, whether it's Chinese or Western cuisine, you can feast to your heart's content~ Secretly, we two little foodies both thought the dishes were fantastic. There were my beloved egg tarts, Macau-style chicken steak buns, French toast... Even my boyfriend, who is so picky about food, praised it endlessly! He kept praising while eating, and the chef standing aside felt a bit embarrassed by the compliments. He even joked that I ate a lot, but he himself didn't eat any less!

开得胜 specializes in Guangdong specialties and snacks. Their featured brand of beef offal, “牛状元”, gave me a big surprise. Initially, it was the aroma of the beef offal that drew me in. When I walked over, I saw all kinds of fresh, savory beef offal. First, they put the rice noodles into a bubbling broth, then scoop them out into a bowl. A portion of beef offal is taken from a nearby pot, placed together with the noodles, then a ladle of beef offal soup is poured over to perfectly blend the noodles and offal. Sprinkle some cilantro, take a bite, and it's pure satisfaction!
2. 惠心私房菜
With the rising trend of private home-style cuisine, it shows that people are leaning more towards dishes with unique flavors. I'm one of them. Whenever I visit a city, I always try one or two private home-style restaurants to taste their food. This unique, homey flavor helps me get to know the local cuisine more quickly. As a Cantonese restaurant, 惠心私房菜 is decorated in a strong Cantonese style. In presentation, they use the most common stainless steel plates found in Guangdong homes, full of family ritual~ On the second-floor rooftop, there are scenic seats where you can overlook the town's beauty and also have an outdoor barbecue. The two of us sat on the rooftop, drinking and eating meat, life is just so wonderful~
3. 什间·哼哈大排档: We discovered this eatery by chance. That evening, the place we had planned to visit had already closed, so we decided to head back to the hotel to rest. On the way back, the appetizing aromas from the dai pai dong drew us over. Its signboard is eye-catching, with a few round tables placed at the entrance. At night, when the lights come on, it's full of lively hustle and bustle: sounds of stir-frying, chattering, glasses clinking... The menu here mainly features Cantonese and Sichuan cuisines. The fiery Sichuan dishes meeting the mild Cantonese dishes creates a unique flavor. However, those who aren't very good with spicy food should not attempt the Sichuan dishes lightly, as it might make you cry! My favorite is the stir-fried pork with chili—the meat is very flavorful, spicy and great with rice. The place is still in its trial operation phase and is expected to officially open in mid-to-late December. Interested friends can come and check it out then~
4. 一个金子吧: As night fell and the roadside lights began to glow, my boyfriend suggested we check out 一个金子吧. I had been looking forward to this place even while we were researching. Dim lighting, drinks, music, and decor all blend into a unique ambiance. Upon entering, the first thing that catches your eye is a huge liquor cabinet, with cocktails, whiskey, red wine... an array of exquisite brews dazzling the eyes. Inside, there are gold and red zones; the gold zone is exclusive to ladies, and the blue zone to gentlemen. Here, we sipped our drinks, watching the joyous dancing around us, and felt our mood relax significantly. At 一个金子吧, let's head towards a glittering tomorrow!

As I learned, the house that hosts it has a history of over a hundred years, so it has profound cultural heritage. Inside, it also incorporates many elements of intangible cultural heritage, such as lion heads and clay sculptures... You really shouldn't miss these features when you come here. Rows of books against a clean background, vintage design, and introductions to Lingnan specialty items create a super cultural vibe. P.S. 翼空间·春睡画院: From the introduction, we learned that this was converted from an ancestral hall. We were both amazed when we found out! Because it's just so cool. My boyfriend, being an art student, had been looking forward to this place for a long time. As soon as he entered the gallery, he was deeply captivated! The interior is spacious and grand. I heard that various art exhibitions are regularly held here. If you're interested, you can check the current events schedule before visiting. The gallery features many landscape paintings, abstract artworks, and more. We viewed many paintings along the way, and the interior design of the gallery also attracted me—it's so novel and full of fashion sense; I heard that the design even won an award.
By the way, the streets here are filled with unique architecture, sculptures, and many color combinations that can add vibrancy to your photos! With sunset glow and century-old blue brick houses, it's a sure way to get magazine-worthy shots! Even small objects in the park can become great props for your camera: little flowers and grass, benches, glass railings... all can add a bright touch to your photos. I held my boyfriend's hand and looked at our reflection in the water, a harmonious and beautiful scene that made me wish time could just freeze.
