Canton Tower ‘Little Waist’ Light Show & Night Views of Zhujiang New Town
The Canton Tower, also called the Guangzhou New TV Tower and affectionately nicknamed ‘Little Waist,’ sits near Chigang Pagoda in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, just 125 meters from the south bank of the Pearl River. It gazes across the water at Haixinsha Island and Zhujiang New Town, the city’s 21st-century CBD. The tower’s main body rises to 450 meters, topped by a 150-meter antenna mast, reaching a total height of 600 meters. It’s an iconic landmark for Guangzhou, much like the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, and its distinctive silhouette has earned it the loving moniker ‘Little Waist.’ When night falls, the tower’s lights blaze to life, drawing crowds of visitors who flock to the area—the atmosphere is simply buzzing. Recently, a light festival has been taking place at Canton Tower, making it an absolute dream for photographers! Getting there couldn’t be easier, with a plethora of metro and bus connections. Cultural landscapes may seem similar at first glance, but the true delight lies in the ever-changing experiences, moods, companions, and moments of your visit—each trip feels unique. Thumbs up! The views are simply stunning!
