Life is getting better and better
生活是一场旅行 – Life is a journey
人生即是旅途 – Life is a journey itself
Life is a journey, everyone you met
This year, my plans to go abroad were forced to be put on hold, but my wanderlust is still very much alive! Without going far, I decided to explore my own city and its surroundings thoroughly!
No matter your financial situation, you should set aside a travel fund each year, and then pick a random time to spend it all on a trip!
Traveling is not a burden, nor a pressure; it’s more of a release for the soul!
Written on the last day of 2020, this “urban sojourn” state is still not over! 2021 is still full of promise!
Urban sojourning is a new lifestyle

Life is a journey, everyone you met
This year has been the longest we’ve stayed at home. We’ve noticed every stain on the wall, every scratch on the table leg, every chipped tile… We’ve never known our own home so well!
And because of this over-familiarity, we really want to make some changes! Buying a new house is impossible! Renovating the home would be too expensive! Changing some furniture, rearranging the decor, but then what to do with the old, still usable furniture?
Unable to convince myself with all these reasons, I chose a new way to change things up…
Let’s go stay in a hotel!
A new choice for city hotels
Life is a journey
Guangzhou Tianhe Dinglong
Hilton Garden Inn
No. 63 Guangzhou Avenue North
The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, right near Guangzhou Tianhe Coach Terminal. For out-of-town visitors, that’s a great convenience! And for us locals, it’s just a subway ride away.
If I had to describe this hotel in one phrase, I’d say it’s Guangzhou’s city photo studio.
The hotel is full of treasure-like details waiting for your keen eyes to discover! For example, the marble “carpet” at the entrance… The natural veins come together to form a unique pattern! It’s more precious than ordinary textile carpets because each piece of marble is one of a kind!
The old Xiguan “tang lung” door, wooden windows, and old Guangzhou street scenes are hidden in the hotel lobby—can you find them? I really admire the designer’s concept, subtly weaving Guangzhou culture into the hotel! This “when in Rome” approach is so sincere!
This is the lobby’s “convenience corner”… It includes a “mini business center,” a “grab-and-go” mini souvenir shop, and even a mailbox to send “city postcards”…
I still remember the last city postcard I mailed to myself was from Xiamen… I actually never collected one from our own Guangzhou! I immediately got one for myself!
Miniature cultural landscapes
Take a close look at the “Guangzhou souvenirs” lightbox with “city landmarks”—they are all crafted as landmark shapes using Cantonese slang!
Don’t think the front desk decor is too minimalist; the marble backdrop that forms a “treasure bowl” is also a meticulously carved one-of-a-kind!
Every painting in the hallway has its unique meaning, waiting for you to decipher! The crystal-clear glazed glass in the elevator lobby shares the same texture as old Xiguan stained glass windows, and the seemingly simple background pattern is actually pieced together from various nostalgic floor tiles!

My room has been “sealed”…
I never thought I’d be so happy to see a seal on the door! It’s like the packaging seal of a gift, only to be opened by me, the owner, to unveil this mysterious present!
This is a suite with a living room. The moment I opened the door and saw the living room, it really felt like coming home—warm and relaxing!
The living room, bedroom, bathroom, and dressing room form a loop structure; you go around the “wall” and return to where you started.
The highlight of the room has to be a few of its walls! The wall behind the bed, from a distance, is a miniature skyline of Guangzhou’s landmarks. Up close, it’s Cantonese slang phrases. As you read them, you’re learning Guangzhou’s language and culture while feeling like you’re taking a Cantonese test! Many kids probably haven’t even heard these fun expressions!
Cantonese everywhere
Besides the lobby and bedroom, this playful Cantonese culture is also spread throughout the restroom and bathroom… You can learn Cantonese during all your relaxing moments! Haha!
The Hermès orange chair in the living room may look simple, but it’s actually a carefully selected “kapok chair” by the hotel, with its backrest shaped like flower petals!
Enjoy the city night view
As night falls, sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window and gazing down at the bustling traffic below is quite soothing.
At first, I thought the office chair in the room was just there for looks, but it turns out it’s an ergonomic chair! The large Y-shaped backrest perfectly supports the shoulders and spine at the optimal points. It’s really comfortable!
Complete amenities

LIFE STILE
A great hotel not only offers attentive service and a comfortable stay but also complete amenities that add great value!
For example, there’s a meeting lounge for important receptions, a fitness center to help guests keep fit, and a restaurant that heals your appetite… Even a laundry room! It’s truly no different from being at home! So awesome!
The Huahui · Wei all-day dining restaurant, with its full sense of ceremony and simple European-style decor, made me take extra photos more than once!
Besides the environment that won me over, the food conquered my taste buds…
The plated Western dinner, with one course after another, enhanced communication among friends… And by slowing down the pace, we could enjoy the satisfaction the food brought us even more!
Steamed items in the buffet breakfast are nothing unusual, but when even the dim sum is made into adorable piggy custard buns and mushroom-shaped buns, you have to give a thumbs up!
I think even if you're not staying here, spending a pleasant afternoon in the restaurant is a wonderful choice…
