Nansha, Guangzhou’s forward-looking new district and a brand-new sub-center, stands out in the Greater Bay Area: while Qianhai is the pilot zone for Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation and Hengqin leads Guangdong-Macao openness, Nansha serves as the comprehensive demonstration zone for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao collaboration. For the Greater Bay Area, Nansha is an emerging central gateway. A getaway to Nansha has thus become a refreshing alternative for travelers from Guangzhou and nearby cities. It’s only about an hour’s drive from downtown Guangzhou, and with Wanda Plaza now in Nansha, dining, shopping, and entertainment options are all in place.

As Nansha’s new district is a key tourism development area, the accommodation experience for sojourners is especially well-considered. Sheraton Guangzhou Nansha, located in the heart of the Greater Bay Area, is the very first international brand hotel in Nansha District. It boasts a prime location, adjacent to major retail outlets, shopping malls, and bars in Nansha, with easy connections to surrounding cities. Guests can overlook beautiful Nansha vistas while the hotel sits at Guangzhou’s southern gateway. The nearby Jinzhou metro station links directly to the city’s CBD.

Stepping into the lobby, you’ll find lavish yet elegant décor complemented by artfully designed ceiling ornaments that exude grandeur. A marble-textured spiral staircase on one side of the lobby is a tastefully minimalist focal point, adding to the hotel’s beauty. The spacious and bright lobby lounge, with its comfortable seating and wide floor-to-ceiling windows, invites guests to unwind while soaking in the stunning views of Nansha and the Greater Bay Area.

Sheraton is consistently committed to high-quality service and standards, so every guestroom is equipped with a 55-inch ultra-flat TV, separate bathtub and shower, and other essential amenities. The contemporary urban design of the rooms ensures that guests enjoy a home-like, relaxing stay.

For a hotel of such high caliber, a 24-hour indoor gym is a must. The gym is airy and spacious, equipped with multiple treadmills and other fitness machines—perfect for fitness enthusiasts. You can pop in whenever you feel like working out. There’s also a kids’ club, ensuring little ones have a joyful holiday.

The Sheraton executive lounge provides an even more comfortable setting and sweeping views. It’s an exclusive space where guests can work efficiently, complete with a small meeting room. It’s also perfect for catching up with friends over complimentary breakfast or enjoying fine snacks at any time.

Caiyue Xuan Chinese Restaurant specializes in authentic Cantonese cuisine. The chef carefully prepares dishes rich in Lingnan flavors, letting every Nansha guest discover that beyond seafood, there’s such delectable Cantonese fare. The dim sum, full of Guangdong character, is the restaurant’s signature—pleasantly surprising in taste while elevating tradition to a new level, with exquisite morsels bursting with reinvented flavors. The clay pot dishes, introduced for winter, are exceptional: perfectly suited to the cold season, they are warming and nourishing, preserving classic Cantonese taste that lingers on the palate.

Clay pot menu: Nansha Green Crab with Ginger and Scallion Chicken Pot, Abalone and Chayote with Pig’s Stomach Pot, Nansha Lotus Root and Fish Maw Pot, Braised Bean Curd Sticks and Lamb Brisket Pot, Dry-Fried Preserved Meat with Taishan Cauliflower Pot, Dry-Fried Fish Lip Pot.

Among the clay pot dishes, I’m particularly fond of the Dry-Fried Fish Lip Pot, the Dry-Fried Preserved Meat with Taishan Cauliflower Pot, and the Nansha Green Crab with Ginger and Scallion Chicken Pot. The fish lip pot is wonderfully fragrant, and when eaten with roast pork, it makes a delicious meal with rice. What impressed me most about the preserved meat cauliflower pot is how the sweetness of the cured meat infuses the cauliflower, creating a more outstanding taste that really showcases Cantonese cuisine’s uniqueness. The green crab chicken pot’s brilliance lies in the perfect pairing of crab and chicken: the crab stays succulent while the chicken absorbs the crab’s umami, making each bite distinctively delicious. The lotus root and fish maw pot as well as the braised lamb brisket pot are also excellent winter comfort foods—nourishing and full of flavor, definitely worth a try.

Dim sum menu: Charcoal Sesame Balls, Cheese Baked Sticky Rice with Chicken, Salmon Wonder Rolls, Traditional Fried Egg Puffs, Flaky BBQ Pork Buns, Coconut and Fruit Jelly, Typhoon Shelter Shrimp Dumplings, Signature BBQ Pork Pastries.

Among the many delectable dim sum, the Typhoon Shelter Shrimp Dumplings, Flaky BBQ Pork Buns, and Salmon Wonder Rolls are particularly distinctive. The shrimp dumplings are crispy outside and tender inside, with an incredible texture and taste you can’t resist. The flaky BBQ pork bun is a clever creation: it uses a flaky bread design filled with sweet and savory roast pork, resulting in a very moreish treat. The Salmon Wonder Roll is equally intriguing—it’s like a spring roll, but the filling swaps in salmon, adding nutritional value and a delicate texture that gives this dim sum a whole new flavor.

The ‘Miyabi’ Japanese and Korean restaurant blends modern and East Asian flair. Here you can savor a wide variety of fresh Japanese dishes, and the chef is happy to prepare teppanyaki and other Japanese favorites according to your request. Lovers of Japanese cuisine simply cannot miss this experience.

Japanese cuisine values exquisite presentation and the natural flavors of the ingredients. At ‘Miyabi,’ guests can enjoy the most authentic and delicious Japanese food—sushi, sashimi, and more—where outstanding taste is a true delight for the palate.

Japanese menu: Sashimi Platter, Mango Shrimp Roll, Grilled Eel, Grilled Mackerel, Shrimp Tempura, Teppanyaki Scallops, Asparagus, Beef, Silver Cod, Foie Gras, and Small Hot Pot.

Tempura, grilled eel, and mango shrimp rolls are my favorites—the taste and texture are consistently delicious, and I order them every time I have Japanese food. The foie gras at ‘Miyabi’ is also highly worth trying, with a melt-in-the-mouth sensation you rarely find elsewhere. A sashimi platter is an indispensable part of Japanese cuisine: fresh salmon, Arctic surf clams, prawns, and more look so tempting that it’s impossible to resist. The restaurant also serves small hot pots, with delectable beef and side dishes perfect for winter.

Feast Signature Restaurant serves all-day fresh buffets with an extensive selection. Dinner is a highlight: embracing the winter season, the restaurant lays out a self-service hot pot feast with fresh ingredients. Guests can choose from a dazzling array of hot pot items, including freshly sliced beef and fresh seafood, satisfying any hot pot lover’s cravings.

The buffet variety is truly impressive. The seafood station features three-spot crabs, shrimp, mussels, sea snails, giant river prawns, baby octopus, razor clams, and small squid, all incredibly fresh. In addition, there are stations for Chinese barbecue, sushi, noodle soup, and spicy malatang—an outstanding array to satisfy every palate.

The hot pot comes in multiple flavors, like Sichuan spicy, clear broth, and satay, and is in no way inferior to outside hot pot restaurants. With fresh ingredients and a wide variety of meats, it’s perfect for couples or families to enjoy together.

As the saying goes, the morning sets the day. A hearty, delicious breakfast is essential. Feast’s morning offerings ensure every guest enjoys fresh, tasty food while maintaining nutritional variety and balance. Eating healthily is fundamental, and it all starts with breakfast.

When it comes to Nansha tourism, many have visited the romantic Million Sunflower Garden and the Tianhou Temple. About a 40-minute drive from Sheraton Guangzhou Nansha, Nansha Wetland Park is also an excellent family-friendly destination. Located at the southernmost tip of Guangzhou, on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary where the 18th and 19th Channels meet in Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District, the park spans about 10,000 mu. It is Guangzhou’s largest wetland park, a key stopover for migratory birds, and a wonderful spot to admire lotus flowers and leaves in summer.

The wetland park offers visitors a variety of recreational facilities. Take a sightseeing boat to see the mangroves, reed marshes, lotus ponds, bird nests, and feeding areas; or explore the banyan-shaded greenways, sea-view promenade, and wilderness walking area by tour bus, bicycle, or on foot. Here, you can enjoy a poetic scene: winding waters and reeds, birds resting in mangroves, boundless lotus beauty, and humans and birds joyfully roaming together.

Nearby, the 19th Channel is also highly popular with visitors, who come especially for the fresh local seafood. Besides being famous for seafood, this area is a fruit and vegetable production base and a wholesale market, known for papaya, star fruit, bananas, sugarcane, lotus root, and more at very reasonable prices.

Seafood at the 19th Channel is mainly exported to Hong Kong and Macao, so its freshness is guaranteed. When buying at the wholesale market, be sure to compare shops and bargain skillfully—getting a good deal means matching wits with the vendors. Once you’ve bought your fresh seafood, you can take it to a nearby restaurant to have it cooked, with reasonable processing fees. Eating seafood in Nansha is an absolute must, and a sumptuous seafood feast will never disappoint!

As the New Year and winter holidays approach, we invite everyone to visit Sheraton Guangzhou Nansha and experience the harbor views and gastronomy right at your doorstep. Looking ahead, the nascent Nansha New City is set to become a rising tourism destination in Guangzhou. Nansha is not just about seeing the sea and eating seafood—many more dining, entertainment, and leisure experiences are on the horizon. Let’s wait and see.
