Guangzhou Nanshan Yunxi Mountain Lodge / Liangchen Guli – A Hidden Gem by the Liuxi River in Conghua
On a bright autumn day, during the National Day holiday, friends in small groups wanted to leave the bustling city behind and unwind in the mountains. We found the perfect nearby getaway on the banks of the Liuxi River in Conghua — Nanshan Yunxi, also known as Liangchen Guli (Good Times Homeland). The guesthouse sits by the Liuxi River in Conghua, overlooking its beautiful waters. The scenery changes with the seasons, attracting painters who love sketching outdoors and photography enthusiasts from all over. Don’t miss this dreamy cloud-kissed retreat so close to Guangzhou! The guesthouse is in the heart of the Liuxi River scenic area, surrounded by plum trees. Although we stayed in autumn, you can easily imagine the spectacular plum blossoms in winter. Tucked against a hill and facing the lake (Liuxi River Reservoir), the setting is quiet and purely natural — a rural idyll that city dwellers long for. Here, there’s no heavy work pressure, just fresh air, peace, and serenity, perfect for a relaxing holiday, finding inspiration, chatting and drinking with a few friends, or a lively team meeting where ideas flow.

Perched on a hillside and nestled between the mountain and water, both buildings are courtyard-style with front-row lake views. Each has a private courtyard with a pool where you can take a refreshing dip in cool mountain spring water on hot days. The pool is fed by direct mountain spring water and cleaned every two or three days — natural and pristine. Large floor-to-ceiling windows flood the rooms with light and offer stunning views.
The ground-floor lobby living room is particularly stylish, with sofas, a long table, and bookshelves full of books to read or just daydream.
The guesthouse boasts a unique location on a small hill, with windows opening onto beautiful Liuxi River scenery. The surrounding area is utterly quiet. After dinner, sitting by the stone table downstairs, sipping tea, chatting, and gazing up at the starry sky is pure bliss… The butler is meticulous — afternoon tea and breakfast are thoughtfully prepared, putting your mind completely at ease.
