Spring Festival of the Horse Year — A Five-Day Trip to Guilin, Longsheng, and Yangshuo

Huangyao Ancient Town is an ancient town with a history of nearly a thousand years. It originated in the Song Dynasty, flourished during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, and reached its peak during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. Because the majority of the town's residents are surnamed Huang and Yao, it is named "Huangyao". Huangyao Ancient Town was selected as one of the top 50 places in China most worth visiting for foreigners.

The Lijiang River belongs to the Xijiang River system of the Pearl River Basin and is the general name for the upper reaches of the Guijiang tributary. The Lijiang section is 164 kilometers long. The riverbed is mostly composed of water-polished pebbles, with low sediment content and clear water quality. The riverbanks are mostly karst landforms.

Elephant Trunk Hill, originally named Lishan, also known as Yishan or Chenshui Shan, or simply Xiangshan, is located at the confluence of the Taohua River and the Lijiang River in Guilin City, Guangxi. The hill is named for its shape resembling a giant elephant standing by the river, stretching its trunk to drink the sweet Lijiang water. It is considered a symbol of Guilin's landscape. Ticket price: 75 yuan, expensive! If you're drifting by, there's really no need to come in.

Longsheng Hot Spring is located in an area surrounded by mountains, 137 kilometers from Guilin. Under a forest coverage of 5 square kilometers, the hot spring emerges from a rock layer 1,200 meters deep underground, with water temperatures ranging from 45°C to 58°C. The water contains more than ten beneficial trace elements for the human body, including lithium, strontium, iron, zinc, and copper.

Longji Rice Terraces scenic area covers 66 square kilometers, with terraced fields distributed between elevations of 300 to 1,100 meters. Winding from the foot of the mountain to the top, the small hills resemble snails and the large hills look like towers, overlapping and undulating at different heights. Viewed from above, they appear as lines or strips, parallel or crisscrossing, meandering like spring snails or cloud towers draped in mist.

Yangshuo County is a county under the jurisdiction of Guilin City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. It has a total area of 1,428.38 square kilometers and administers 6 towns and 3 townships. As of 2010, the total population was 300,000, with 13 ethnic groups including Han, Zhuang, Yao, and Hui. Yangshuo attracts many tourists with its unique and beautiful scenery, earning the reputation of "Famous County for Tourism in China".

Guilin Yangshuo Guifu Hotel is located at the foot of Bilian Peak on the banks of the Lijiang River, between West Street and East Street, only a hundred meters from Impression Liu Sanjie. The Yulong River is a river in Guilin City, referring to the section from Baisha's Xanadu to the Banyan Tree and Gongnong Bridge, about 16 kilometers long, 38–61 meters wide, and 0.5–2 meters deep. The water is clear all year round and flows gently. On both sides of the Yulong River, the peaks are elegant and graceful, stretching continuously with various shapes. The riverbanks are covered with lush green grass, verdant bamboos, and dense trees.

Impression Liu Sanjie is the world's largest natural landscape theater, with the entire project integrated into nature. It covers a two-kilometer stretch of the Lijiang River at the Shutong Mountain section in Yangshuo, with twelve background peaks. The drum towers, wind-rain bridges, and audience seating exude strong ethnic characteristics, and the entire project uses no iron nails, which is truly amazing.

Yangshuo West Street is located in the center of Yangshuo County. It is 517 meters long and 8 meters wide, with a marble pavement and a curved S-shape. The buildings are of antique style with strong local characteristics. The street is filled with various tourist souvenirs and snacks. Its night view, full of exotic charm, is especially enchanting and rich in local customs.
