In-Depth Guilin Tour Private Customization
D1 Evening flight from Shanghai arrived at Liangjiang Airport. Since we had contacted Xiao Chen in advance, he was waiting for us at the airport. Xiao Chen helped us plan the route, so everything was arranged by him. A business car took us to the hotel in the city center. After dinner, we rested. D2 Woke up in the morning, the air in Guilin was very fresh, truly a green city. Xiao Chen was already waiting at the hotel gate and took us to eat Guilin rice noodles in a small alley. After breakfast, we set off for Longji. Xiao Chen said the road to Longji was all mountain roads, quite far and dangerous, so he drove carefully. On the way, we encountered a torrential downpour; the windshield wipers were useless. After two and a half hours, we finally reached the Longji ticket office, and another half hour to enter Dazhai village and reach the foot of the mountain. Entering Dazhai, on the right was the cable car. We hiked to the first viewing platform. We had a farmers' meal at the foot of the mountain. We ordered pickled vegetable soup, and we especially liked the bamboo rice. After lunch, we officially started hiking to lose weight. It took nearly an hour to reach our hotel, Panorama Building. The houses here are all wooden structures. The hiking path was stone steps, and the scenery became more spectacular as we climbed higher. Along the way, we saw locals in traditional costumes; sometimes they would ask if you needed help carrying things. The Longji Rice Terraces looked like layers of stairs from above, very beautiful, with mist and fog surrounding the fields. After an hour, we finally reached the hotel, which is located at the highest point of Longji. After Xiao Chen helped us check in, he suggested we soak our feet and take a nap. Dinner was at 6:30 PM. We enjoyed the scenery and took photos at the hotel. At 6:30 PM, Xiao Chen had already booked our meal, which included tea tree mushrooms, bamboo chicken, bamboo rice, and local wild vegetables. The restaurant had a great view, so we could enjoy the scenery while eating. We drank some local wine, which was sweet and sour. D3 After breakfast at the hotel, we walked down the mountain. The descent took less time, so we quickly reached the foot. Today's itinerary was a Li River bamboo raft from Yangdi to Xingping. It was raining heavily again on the way. We chatted a lot with Xiao Chen. He said he had cycled the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, and he loves traveling and fitness. After more than two hours, we arrived at Yangdi Pier. The raftsman was already waiting for us. The bamboo raft floated on the water as if we were in a painting. Along the way, the raftsman introduced the attractions and sometimes stopped at docks for us to take photos. We saw Carp Hanging on the Wall, Old Man Guarding the Apple, Best Under Heaven, Nine Horse Mural Hill, Yellow Cloth Reflection, and the 20 Yuan RMB background. After docking at Xingping Pier, we had a farmers' meal at Xiao Chen's relative's place. We had beer fish, which tasted great and was reasonably priced, and we could also enjoy the 20 Yuan background. In the afternoon, Xiao Chen arranged for us to visit Yinziyan in Yangshuo. It is said that visiting Yinziyan ensures you never lack money. Yinziyan was magnificent, with bizarre shapes and beautiful lighting, very stunning. We followed the guide for two hours in the cave. Returning to the hotel, Xiao Chen booked a very distinctive hotel for us. In the evening, we strolled along West Street, also known as Foreigner Street.

D4 Pure bamboo rafting on the Yulong River, from Chaoyang Pier to Gongnong Bridge. The water was very clear and icy cold. We played in the water all the way, even having water fights with tourists on other rafts. Sometimes we went down small dams, which was very exciting. The one-hour journey ended quickly, and we were reluctant to leave. We took photos on Gongnong Bridge, where there is a scenic spot called Camel Crossing the River. In the evening, Xiao Chen invited us to his home. On the way, we climbed Xianggong Mountain. From the top, we could see bamboo rafts floating on the river, like a painting. If the weather was good, we could even see a sea of clouds. Xiao Chen's home was at Nine Horse Mural Hill. We had dinner at his family's farmhouse, eating steamed sword bone fish, which was very light and delicious. We stayed in a small villa in their village that night. D5 Originally, the plan was to stay one night at Mao'er Mountain, but because it was too hot, we changed the itinerary and went to Daxu Ancient Town. The town was very old and well-preserved. We had a bowl of very tasty cold jelly in the town, which was very unique, and also strawberries, red and delicious. We drove from Daxu to Xingping Ancient Town. The scenery along the way was also beautiful. After arriving at Xingping, Xiao Chen took us to climb Sino-Japanese Friendship Mountain, Laozhai Mountain, to enjoy the first bend of the Li River. The climb was a bit steep. We stayed in Xingping Ancient Town that night. D6 We took the newly built road from Xingping to Xing'an Mao'er Mountain. After a three-hour drive, we arrived at Mao'er Mountain and transferred to a scenic area bus to go up the mountain. It took an hour to ascend. At the top, we could see the source of the Li River, the First Peak of South China, and observe the typical karst landform. We took a few quick photos. Since our flight was at 7 PM and time was tight, at 4 PM we immediately drove to the airport. We arrived at the airport at 6 PM, shook hands with Xiao Chen to say goodbye, thanked him for his care, and left some regrets to come back to him next time.
