Rarely is there a place like Yangshuo, where every spot boasts breathtaking landscapes of mountains and waters, akin to a fairyland.

It is often said, "Guilin's scenery is unmatched in the world, and Yangshuo's scenery is even better than Guilin's." If you haven't decided on your summer travel destination yet, why not come to Yangshuo? Yangshuo's hundred-mile landscape is filled with unique mountains and beautiful waters. Every time I visit, I am amazed by nature's craftsmanship. This time, I gathered a few friends and came back to Yangshuo.

Yangshuo does not have its own airport. If you fly into Guilin, you can take a bus to Yangshuo, or take a sightseeing ferry from Guilin Pier to Yangshuo, which takes about 4.5 to 5 hours.

Known for its unparalleled natural scenery, taking a bamboo raft ride is a must. If you are with friends, you will be constantly bombarded with exclamations of "Wow!" as the highlights come one after another, each one eliciting admiration.

The scenery here changes with the seasons, each with its own charm. Along the way, you can enjoy the sights of Yangdi, Wenbi Peak, Child Worshipping Guanyin, Langshi, Apple Mountain, Xialong, Nine Horses Fresco, and more. There's no need to worry about missing the beauty of the season no matter when you visit.

If you want to experience the landscape of "small bridges, flowing water, and homes," you can visit the "Shangri-La" scenic area. According to introductions, it is one of the first national agricultural tourism demonstration sites and a recommended tourist destination by the World Tourism Organization.

Looking at these ancient bridges, flowing water, farmland, and old villages, I can't help but recall Tao Yuanming's "Peach Blossom Spring." Such serene scenes truly exist.

Longjing River Scenic Area:

It is only a 90-minute drive from Guilin city center, 35 kilometers from Yangshuo county, and less than 30 minutes from the Yangshuo exit of the Gui-Wu Expressway. There are also special shuttle buses from Liuzhou, Guilin, and Yangshuo, making transportation very convenient. Longjing River rafting is a very unique water adventure rafting experience in Guilin and even the whole country.

There is a local saying: "After visiting Silver Cave, you'll never lack money for life." The cave is a typical karst landform, spanning twelve peaks and belonging to a multi-story cave. Inside, stalactites from different geological ages grow, crystal clear and pure white, like a Milky Way pouring down from the night sky, shimmering with the brilliance of silver and diamonds. It is definitely worth a visit.

Yangshuo Stuffed Snails:

The snails here are very special. First, they are large, some as big as ping-pong balls. Second, their taste is completely different from the snail meat itself.

Out of curiosity, I asked the locals, and they said the meat inside is not entirely snail meat. They first remove the snail meat, mix it with minced pork, cilantro, and other seasonings, then stuff it back into the shell and cook it with broth. I have to admire the chef's ingenuity.

Lijiang Beer Fish:

This is a bright culinary cultural highlight of Yangshuo. If you don't try it, you won't know; once you taste it, you'll be amazed. It's a well-known dish, and not trying it would be a waste of your trip. The beer fish is somewhat similar to the hot pot fish in Sichuan cuisine, with a fresh, spicy, and delicious flavor, devoid of any fishy smell.

By the way, you must eat it with the scales. Authentic beer fish has fried scales that are very crispy. Missing out on that would be a big loss.

Lipu Taro Braised Pork:

This dish is not an ordinary braised pork. You can't just eat it casually. There is a proper way to enjoy it: usually one piece of fatty pork and one piece of taro. The taro is soft and powdery, cutting through the greasiness of the pork, making it a delightful experience.

Guilin Lotus Leaf Duck:

This dish uses fresh green lotus leaves from lotus ponds to wrap the duck, creating a fragrant and delicious dish. It is a "crispy meat, fragrant flavor, fried and steamed" type of dish.

Choosing accommodation is crucial for a trip. I recommend this hotel, which can itself be considered a scenic spot. It offers convenient transportation, comfortable lodging, and plenty of activities. Make your stay a travel destination in itself.

This hotel is a long-time internet-famous hotel in Yangshuo. From the entrance design, you can tell it's not an ordinary hotel. The lobby design is also very creative, especially suitable for photos.

Check-in at the hotel is very quick, and the staff enthusiastically helped us carry our luggage upstairs.

This time we stayed in a Loft panoramic room. The moment the automatic curtains opened, I was stunned by the view.

The first floor had two beds, and the top floor had a double bed, offering a 360° view of the "20 Yuan RMB Scenic Area." Lying in bed on the second floor truly felt like sleeping within the scenery.

The rooftop's Santorini style is truly beautiful. They also offer photography services; those interested can make a reservation directly at the front desk. But honestly, just taking casual photos here results in stunning shots. So I suggest bringing several brightly colored outfits for a more visually striking effect.

If you don't know where to eat authentic local food, you can order directly at the first-floor restaurant. They serve not only authentic local dishes but also special Sichuan cuisine, well worth a try!
