Yangshuo Self-driving Tour: Family & Couples Trip | 2 Days 1 Night or 3 Days 2 Night, Live Amidst Yangshuo's Mountains and Waters, Savor Local Cuisine, Enjoy Unforgettable...
Staying at home too long during the pandemic, children always miss the outside world, the green hills and clear waters. They always look forward to meeting the sunshine again. So once more we came to Yangshuo, hoping to sweep away the gloom of this period among the green mountains and clear waters, and to seek beautiful days amidst them.
Day 1: Self-driving, arrived at the hotel at 1:00 PM, rested for a while, then went to eat beer fish โ in the evening, visited the most beautiful West Street (Foreigner Street).
Day 2: Woke up in the morning, took a bamboo raft from the 20-yuan note scenic spot to Nine Horse Painting Mountain, casually visited Xingping Ancient Town โ in the afternoon, took the cable car at Ruyi Peak โ Ten Li Gallery โ watched sunset at Yulong River from Gongnong Bridge โ Tucairenjia (Farmhouse Restaurant).
Day 3: Outdoor expansion ATV off-road vehicle base โ at 1:00 PM went to Eternal Love (Songcheng). Returned at 4:00 PM.
This time to Yangshuo, we chose not to use high-speed rail or other public transport. Taking advantage of the still-free expressways, we simply embarked on a self-driving trip to Yangshuo.
Driving to Yangshuo is quite convenient. Along the way, the scenery becomes more delicate and beautiful.
Upon arriving in Yangshuo, this time we chose to stay at a guesthouse within the Yulong River scenic area. Not our first visit to Yangshuo, so we didn't book a hotel in the county town but instead settled in the quieter Yulong River area, mainly for the beautiful scenery.
The Yulong River has always been the core scenic area of Yangshuo. Here, the green mountains on both sides are beautiful, and the area has long been known as Ten Li Gallery. The hotel is built by the water, allowing us to watch the flow of the Yulong River, enjoy the bamboo groves, and take in the lingering glow of the sunset, spending quiet time โ this was the greatest expectation and purpose of this trip.
In the afternoon, we chose not to go out. We stayed at the inn.
By the swimming pool at the inn, we ordered a delicate afternoon tea. Although the weather was a bit chilly to swim, we lazily lay in the tent beside the pool, enjoying a piece of delicious cake and a cup of fragrant coffee. Half asleep, half awake, the afternoon was leisurely and wonderful.
For dinner, we chose to eat out and went directly to Yangshuo county town to taste the local beer fish, bamboo tube chicken, and other specialty dishes...
Amidst the green mountains and clear waters of Yangshuo, various fresh ingredients are nurtured. These wild ingredients are always especially fresh and delicious. If we talk about the most famous ones, it must be the various river delicacies from the Li River.
Woke up the next day, enjoyed a simple but delicious breakfast at the inn, and continued the trip to the Li River to see the background scenery of the 20-yuan note.
The banks of the Li River are never short of beautiful scenery, especially when we saw the gorgeous morning glow.
In the afternoon, we took the cable car at Ruyi Peak.
Under the spring sunshine of March, Ten Li Gallery is naturally a painting everywhere. Walking here is like walking within a scroll. Vast fields of rapeseed flowers are brilliant and golden; the sea of rapeseed flowers is a unique beautiful scene beneath the clear and delicate mountains.
Watched sunset at Yulong River from Gongnong Bridge.
This time at Gongnong Bridge, there were no bustling bamboo rafts, but the tranquility brought a different scenery and flavor to the bridge. On Gongnong Bridge, one side is the big banyan tree; the Yulong River flows through the clear mountains here, meandering beside the big banyan tree, quiet and moving.
In the evening, we chose to dine at the nearby Tucairenjia (Farmhouse Restaurant).
Farmhouse dishes sound quite rustic, but they actually use many local specialty ingredients. Adhering to the principle of eating only seasonal foods, they select various seasonal ingredients, which are even fresher and more delicious. Thunder fungus is a local specialty fungus, only found after rain. It is refreshing, and when stir-fried with pickled beans and chili common here, it goes very well with rice.
Steamed fish from the Li River, and pan-fried whole eels โ these ingredients are very sweet and delicious. No complicated cooking is needed; just highlighting the original flavor of the ingredients makes them very tasty.
Large snails have crunchy meat, stuffed with minced pork; the textures of pork and snail meat blend together to create Yangshuo's famous dish: stuffed snails.
Simple farmhouse dishes preserve the deliciousness of the ingredients, simple yet possessing a rustic beauty.
The last specialty dish is Beggar's Chicken.
Day 3: I woke up naturally and went to the outdoor expansion ATV off-road vehicle base.
Off-roading is an activity full of testosterone. The roar and lines of off-road vehicles always get people's blood pumping. Rolling through muddy roads and driving through puddles โ that is the greatest joy of off-road vehicles. At the outdoor expansion ATV base, you can choose from dune buggies, go-karts, and SUVs, each offering a different thrill.
Dune buggies have the strongest torque, while go-karts have the lowest chassis, giving the best sense of ground-hugging speed. As for SUVs, with their extremely high clearance, they easily pass through gravel or mud roads, and even drive directly over riverbeds without pressure, making them the most suitable for challenging various terrains. Sitting on an off-road vehicle, the roar of the accelerator always gives an adrenaline rush. Driving the off-road vehicle through country paths, deliberately choosing muddy or bumpy trails, with the beautiful mountains of Yangshuo on both sides โ navigating these places is the most fun way to play with an off-road vehicle.
In the afternoon, I watched a must-see show: Eternal Love (Songcheng).
Leaving Yangshuo always brings much reluctance โ reluctant to part with the green mountains and clear waters, reluctant to part with the sweet air here. There are still many places I haven't visited: Yulong River, Xianggong Mountain, Yulong Bridge, Fuli Bridge, Old County, Secret Garden... But perhaps the most reluctant to leave is the leisure here, devoid of the city's hustle and bustle. Here, zoning out, spending plenty of time, tasting delicious food, and experiencing the beauty of natural ingredients โ that is the reason to come to Yangshuo.
