2021 Guilin Travel Must-Visit Hotels, Guilin's Most Beautiful Afternoon Tea! Self-Guided Tour Food Guide: Popular Specialty Restaurant Recommendations!
On my most recent trip to Guilin, I tasted such an exquisite afternoon tea for the first time. Its name is also very pleasant: Cloud·French Afternoon Tea. The waiter poured hot water into the vessel in the center of the desserts, and a large cloud of mist overflowed, creating a feeling of being in the clouds—a perfect visual effect! The biggest highlight of this afternoon tea, besides the abundant mist, is the Starry Sky Black Truffle Chocolate, which is said to be made with very luxurious ingredients. Its aroma is rich and the texture is very mellow. The macaron's sibling—the Dacquoise—is another representative of French desserts. It looks hard on the surface, but actually has a very soft and crunchy texture. For other desserts, you can dip them in these cookie crumbs to enhance the crispness and layering... There are also three savory items: Salmon Cheese Tart, Japanese-style Crab Stick Flavor Tart, and Smoked Duck Meat Squid Ink Burger, making this afternoon tea savory and fragrant without being overly sweet, appealing to a wider range of tastes.
The restaurant is located on the top floor of the Lijiang Boyin Hotel, with an elegant and light-luxury atmosphere. It specializes in Guangxi creative cuisine, offering a deeper cultural experience through local dishes—no longer just a simple meal, but a culinary journey through Guangxi. The morning Chinese and Western buffet is rich in variety, featuring authentic Guilin rice noodles and the local specialty snack—Gongcheng Oil Tea.
As the saying goes, 'The true hermit hides in the city, not in the wilderness.' The Lijiang Boyin Hotel occupies an excellent location in the city center, with the Shan Lake of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes right at its doorstep. Whether for a morning jog or an evening stroll, you can enjoy a comfortable and close-up view of the scenery. The hotel rooms have balconies, and the top-floor terrace offers a wider viewing perspective, overlooking all the surrounding mountain and water scenery.
As night falls, the Starlight Lounge on the hotel's top floor is another unmissable treasure. The Starlight Lounge is just to the left of the restaurant, with a dazzling array of wine cabinets housing hundreds of whiskies from world-renowned producing regions. The photogenic spiral staircase, paired with a highly private cigar room, exudes high-end luxury. Here you can enjoy the beautiful night view of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes, especially the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas area!
On the second day of this Guilin trip, I experienced a romantic Western-style feast at sunset! Overall, the ingredients used in the dishes were very fresh, with clear grain on the beef, and the taste lingered long after eating. There were also delicious desserts, aromatic pizza, rich coffee... This 270-degree panoramic restaurant is located on the top floor of the Gangshe Hotel (Guilin Central Plaza Two Rivers and Four Lakes Branch). It is a secret garden in the sky—the Siyue Bar Restaurant. The natural wood-colored tables and chairs, paired with neatly arranged green plants and an open-air viewing corridor, give the restaurant a fresh and elegant feel. With full glass curtain walls, you can take in the entire cityscape of Guilin at a glance! Here, you can not only taste authentic Western cuisine but also enjoy the slight buzz of fine wine, adding much to this Guilin journey.
The Gangshe Hotel (Guilin Central Plaza Two Rivers and Four Lakes Branch) is located at the entrance of the bustling Zhengyang Pedestrian Street in the city center, opposite the historic Ming and Qing dynasty alley—Dongxi Alley. It is only a five-minute walk to the Duxiu Peak·Wangcheng Scenic Area. The guest rooms offer a view of the Dongxi Alley street scene, rich in historical and cultural atmosphere, and you can also see the distant Duxiu Peak. It is truly a renowned internet-famous resort hotel said to offer views of the 'Twelve Scenic Spots of Guilin.'
