“Intoxicating Beauty” Ruyi Peak

Guilin’s scenery ranks as the finest under heaven—this is the world’s admiration, praise, and accurate definition of Guilin’s landscapes.

A must-visit spot in Guilin: Ruyi Peak Cable Car Scenic Area, located in Gaotian Town, Yangshuo County, Guilin, known as the “Sky City.”

I had heard from friends that Ruyi Peak was fun and had beautiful scenery, so today I visited Ruyi Peak with my family to feast our eyes.

After collecting our tickets, we went up to the left to take the cable car! It was my first time on a cable car, and I was excited but also a bit nervous. As we just got on, my sister and I barely dared to look outside, but our 2-year-old was incredibly excited, exclaiming “Wow, wow, wow…” which made us all laugh. As the cable car glided smoothly forward, it felt like we were floating in the air, enjoying Guilin’s beauty. I couldn’t help but marvel at nature’s extraordinary craftsmanship—Guilin’s mountains are truly beautiful!

The cable car line is about 2,012 meters long, and a one-way ride takes about 15 minutes.

1. After reaching the mountain, walk left for about 5 minutes to reach the suspension bridge. It was breezy and cool. Standing on the bridge, it swayed slightly with the wind. Both sides were hung with prayer ribbons fluttering in the breeze—it was so beautiful that we kept taking selfies.

2. Continue walking for about 40 minutes to reach the second spot: Ruyi Cloud Top, the highest point of Ruyi Peak. It’s a 360-degree viewing platform, a sacred place for making wishes and the best spot to overlook the peaks.

Feeling a bit tired, we sat on the “Sky Mirror” to rest a while and took photos, haha.

3. Next, we arrived at Forest Walk. Half of the path is glass, half is steel grating. From a distance, it looks like an aerial ribbon. (A shoe cover fee of 5 yuan is required.)

4. Glass-bottomed walkway: Time to challenge ourselves! Scared, we stuck close to the wall the whole way. Built along the cliff, it is 138 meters long—every step thrilling!

When descending, we took the cable car again, but tickets need to be checked, so don’t lose your ticket when going up!

The whole trip was quite tiring, but the kids and family had a lot of fun. A must-visit spot when traveling to Guilin with family!
