Check-in at the Filming Location of 'Chinese Restaurant Season 5': The Poetic Life of Sanqianli in Yangshuo
Recently, while watching the variety show 'Chinese Restaurant Season 5' with my mom, I was totally captivated by Guilin's landscapes. Later, I found out the filming location was at the Sanqianli Narada Resort Hotel in Yangshuo, Guilin. I immediately booked a room, brought my mom along, and set off with great anticipation—GO GO GO!
We flew to Guilin, then took a bullet train for about 40 minutes to Yangshuo Station. A dedicated hotel shuttle picked us up at the train station, and we arrived within minutes—it's very close.
During my 3-day, 2-night stay at Sanqianli, I chose the Huajianji guest room, which has a fresh, minimalist style that I really like. As soon as I entered the room, I was captivated by the balcony, which faces Guilin's landscapes. Under the sunset, the light and shadows were enchanting…
For me, the ideal travel life is to open the door to green mountains and clear waters, push the window to hear birdsong and smell flowers, live secluded in the hills, walk along the riverside, carefree and at ease…
The room was very spacious. Whether the bedroom, dressing room, or bathroom, all were generously sized. The two beds in the standard room were large, measuring 1.5 meters each. The mattress was moderately firm and soft, especially comfortable.
In addition, the hotel has Jiangfeng Boat Houses, located at the foot of Phoenix Mountain and along the Dayuan River. At dusk, from the boat house, you can watch the sunset slowly descend over Yuanbao Mountain, which is featured on the 20 RMB note.
Compared to visiting scenic spots, I've always preferred to find a resort hotel, avoid crowds and congestion, enjoy peaceful moments in pure natural surroundings, and seek the true meaning of travel.
Yangshuo's Li River is a well-known must-visit, and Sanqianli encompasses its most essential part. Strolling within the resort, pressing the shutter at any moment yields a 'desktop wallpaper' photo.
There's a 'Mirror of the Sky' here, where water and sky merge, creating dreamy scenes with the lake as smooth as a mirror.
Here, you can also see the backdrop of the 20 RMB note.
What I looked forward to most was the hotel's cuisine. Since this trip was inspired by a variety show, I absolutely had to order the same dishes! Beer fish, Guilin rice noodles, golden five-spice fan ribs… I must say, they were incredibly delicious! Trust me, come here and try them at least once—you won't be disappointed!
Within the resort, besides sightseeing and food, there are many fun activities to experience.
Qiuchu Gong's silk round fans are a Guangxi intangible cultural heritage. For the first time, I made a round fan myself, from mixing colors, painting, to completing the entire fan—it gave me a great sense of achievement.
This place lets you slow down, calm your mind, and enjoy a slower pace of life…
The VR deep-sea adventure was super cool. Wearing VR equipment, I embarked on a unique underwater adventure in a simulated seabed environment—fun and thrilling!
There was also a carousel, full of fairy-tale charm and girlish heart. Riding the carousel amidst mountains and waters felt truly special!
You absolutely must ride the steam train here! The staff said I sat in Huang Xiaoming's seat, hehe!
The train runs for 1 kilometer and takes 20 minutes. During the blooming season, you can see a whole sea of flowers—very enchanting~
Within the resort, there are also some calligraphy and painting exhibitions to appreciate, integrating art into the hotel's culture.
When you come to the Li River, you can't miss the bamboo raft ride. Board a bamboo raft and experience the picturesque landscapes on the water—the whole process takes about 40 minutes.
At Sanqianli, you can also experience a boat afternoon tea, cruising on the Li River and enjoying a uniquely interesting afternoon tea time. But the weather was a bit sunny recently, so I chose to have afternoon tea indoors. It was very abundant, from cakes, desserts, tea snacks to fruits—super satisfying and delicious!
'If water is plenty, take only a dipperful'—Sanqianli's beauty lies not only in its landscapes but also in its lifestyle.
