Located in a Grade II listed building in Greenwich, The Fan Museum is the only museum in the UK dedicated to the history of fans and fan-making. The fans on display tell stories from the 12th century to the present day, made around the world, and their close connection with artistic forms, social history, contemporary politics, and design.

Since 1991, The Fan Museum has attracted visitors with its rich collection. Today, the museum houses over 5,000 fans and fan leaves, some dating back to the 11th century from various parts of the world, making them highly collectible.

The ground floor of the museum is used for the permanent collection exhibition, introducing visitors to the history, manufacturing methods, materials used, as well as the types and origins of these fans.

The Green Room is mainly used to explain the fan-making process and the materials used in the process. Here, two of the museum's most important treasures are displayed: a 16th-century flag fan and a fan painted by Walter Sickert.

The second floor of the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, which are selected from major collections and loans from around the world, changing three times a year, fully demonstrating the diversity of the museum's collection.

The beautiful Orangery was added to The Fan Museum after the renovation of the 18th-century townhouse was completed. This unique garden room is decorated with exquisite murals, maintaining a consistent style with the original building, and visitors can enjoy afternoon tea in this refined atmosphere while admiring the garden views.
