The Peninsula London Grand Opening Welcomes Its First Guests!
Located in the heart of Belgravia, The Peninsula London, the newest member of the Peninsula Hotels group, has now grandly opened. It is situated in a prime location between Hyde Park Corner and Wellington Arch, making it the first Peninsula hotel in the UK. This newly built hotel showcases exceptional British craftsmanship, injecting new style and luxury into the core of Belgravia, within walking distance of many renowned attractions such as Buckingham Palace and Knightsbridge.
The hotel building, meticulously designed by the renowned Hopkins Architects, complements the surrounding historic architecture with bright, naturally lit spaces that are spacious and open, exuding a modern aesthetic.
At the center of the hotel lies a vast inner garden, a masterpiece by world-renowned landscape architect Enzo Enea. Continuous jasmine and wisteria vines intertwine with two 120-year-old Japanese maples—among the oldest in Europe—creating a stunning interplay. The inner garden's cobblestone pavement, rare in bustling Belgravia, offers guests a stay defined by understated luxury.
Guests can also choose to travel in The Peninsula London's fleet of luxury vehicles, including Rolls-Royce Phantom II sedans, Bentley Bentayga hybrid SUVs, a 1960 electric vintage Austin taxi, and a meticulously restored 1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sedanca de Ville.
World-renowned architect and interior designer Peter Marino, drawing inspiration from magnificent British estates and natural landscapes, has created a refined and tranquil aesthetic for The Peninsula London.
The Peninsula London features 190 spacious guest rooms and suites, starting from 50 square meters, all furnished with bespoke decor and art installations to enhance a stylish private residence feel. All rooms include a mahogany-finished dressing room, a spacious honey onyx marble bathroom, and exclusive decorations crafted by British artisans. Many rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of Wellington Arch and the historic Belgravia district.
Six distinctive restaurants, bars, and lounges at The Peninsula London offer a variety of fine cuisine and drinks. The Lobby serves the classic Peninsula afternoon tea and global cuisine, with high ceilings and live musical performances. For light meals like freshly made salads, sandwiches, and pastries, guests can visit the Peninsula Boutique & Café.
The Chinese restaurant Canton Blue and its adjoining Little Blue bar offer innovative Chinese cuisine, cocktails, and various teas. The exotic design, by renowned Hong Kong interior designer Henry Leung, highlights the historical spice trade connections between Asia and the UK.
The rooftop restaurant Brooklands, opening in early October, is helmed by Michelin-starred chef Claude Bosi, offering modern British cuisine. Renowned architects Archer Humphryes have incorporated classic British aviation and motorsport themes into the restaurant's different dining areas. The Brooklands Bar on the eighth floor overlooks the London skyline from St Paul's to Battersea.
Sonja Vodusek, Managing Director of The Peninsula London, said: "For me and the entire hotel team, welcoming the first guests to The Peninsula London is a proud moment. We are very excited to welcome local residents and international travelers to experience this extraordinary hotel in one of the world's most vibrant cities, and to enjoy the warm hospitality and service that Peninsula is known for. The hotel's design elements and facilities come from these creative masters, including fashion designer Jenny Packham, perfumer Timothy Han, and over 40 artists from The Royal Drawing School, whose works enhance the public spaces and guest rooms.
