The Cross-the-Sea Guanyin above is the symbol of Fusheng Temple! Looking up from below, it doesn't feel special because she stands so high. But a photo taken from the side at eye level (taken during restoration, from the scaffolding) reveals that Guan Yin's head is tilted down, her eyes gazing upon the mortal world, her expression serene, devoid of sorrow or joy. Gazing at her, a restless heart gradually finds peace. That's why many hail her as the most beautiful Guanyin, and local guides say art students often come here specifically to sketch her.

Looking at the image above, it might not seem like much. But take a look at this one below (online image, will be removed if it infringes): the Cross-the-River Guanyin is at the center, with figures on the lower left and right gradually shrinking, accentuating the central subject. The surrounding sea and mountains form a frame, making the whole composition extremely pleasing!

This is also a filming location for Black Myth: Wukong, and the Wisdom Kings on the left and right are characters from the game.

Before coming, the homework I did was all about this Cross-the-Sea Guanyin! But once at Fusheng Temple, I realized there are even more treasures hidden here!

Fusheng Temple is located in Guangcun Village, Zezhang Town, Xinjiang County, a nationally designated historical and cultural village. It was first built during the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty under the personal decree of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin, and later named 'Fusheng Yuan' in the third year of the Dading period of the Jin Dynasty. The last courtyard of the temple houses the sealed Three Buddha Cave. Back then, when the Japanese came, they dug out many treasures from the chests of the three large Buddha statues inside the cave. Now it is closed to visitors.
