Xuancheng Taohuatan - Huizhou-style Chinese Retro Homestay - Super Cool
Upstream of the Qingge River, there is not only the famous Huangshan, but also the Taohuatan scenery, where 'Though the Peach Blossom Pool is a thousand feet deep, it cannot compare to the depth of Wang Lun's feelings for me.' The landscapes of Southern Anhui here are lush and verdant, with visible mountain and river spirits, and the scenery is world-renowned.
Unlike those who love great mountains and rivers, I have a particular fondness for small, delicate clear pools and beautiful waters. After planning for many days, I finally arrived at Taohuatan Town in Jing County, Xuancheng, on a sunny afternoon. Passing by a building with a retro and conservative appearance, I was firmly attracted. Ailing Restaurant, with four grand characters written on the huge plaque under the eaves.
This was to be my place of rest day and night for the next few days. The homestay faces the county road opposite a Hope Primary School. It is economical and versatile, with fully functional amenities. The surrounding living facilities are comprehensive, and the environment is fresh and natural.
The restaurant is built along the county road with convenient transportation, carrying the rustic feel of local farm life. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a haven to enjoy tranquility and comfort.
Ailing Restaurant has a Chinese retro style, with carved beams and painted rafters, soaring eaves, bold and flowing lines, neat glazed tiles, a large plaque, and red lanterns—all elements full of a sense of old times.
It can accommodate up to 22 guests simultaneously and has a restaurant that can serve 60 people. The 10 well-decorated guest rooms are simple and elegant, with all basic living amenities, giving a warm feeling of home.
The interior is decorated in a classic modern minimalist style, with a fresh and tidy environment. Each guest room is over 30 square meters, spacious and not cramped.
Opening the doors and windows, fresh outdoor air flows through, and sunlight generously pours in. The entire bedroom is filled with a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The homestay combines dining and accommodation. The first floor is a spacious and independent dining hall, bright and clean, spotless, with excellent hygiene conditions.
Outside the restaurant, the natural scenery is beautiful, diverse, and pure. The clean air is filled with the fragrance of grass, refreshing. Bring your family and friends to stay here for a few days, enjoying the mountains and waters while experiencing the natural tranquility of the mountain village.
The local farm dishes are all authentic to Huizhou cuisine—authentic and unique. Famous Anhui specialties such as Huangshan hairy tofu, Huangshan stinky tofu, stinky mandarin fish, stone ear stewed chicken, steamed ham, and preserved vegetable and pork belly are all available.
