One Day Trip to Seoul's Han River Seonyudo Island and Hongdae
After the hit drama 'My Love from the Star,' the Han River cruise ships and Han River parks have gained great popularity!
Plus, with the recent Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival and so on, the number of tourists around the Han River area is increasing.
What I recommend is Seonyudo Island on the Han River!
Actually, I originally planned to go to Nami Island, but on my friend's advice, I changed to a closer place.
Take Subway Line 9 to Seonyudo Station, then exit through any of exits 1, 2, or 3, and walk toward the river.
Then you'll see a bridge leading to Seonyudo Island. Of course, the bridge is called Seonyu Bridge! Hahaha
The view from the bridge!
It was foggy that day, not a clear sunny day!
The island is an ecological park with a greenhouse and tropical plants! It has flowers and water, separated from the mainland. The most visitors are Koreans bringing their children, followed by couples.
Taking a walk around the island, you can see the Han River scenery. Compared to a simple Han River park, it's more mysterious and charming!
I think this weather is the best to go; any hotter and you'll get really sunburned!
We had lunch on the island. There's a convenience store under Seonyu Bridge where we simply bought sandwiches and such.
We stayed on Seonyudo until the afternoon, then went to Hongdae. Hongdae has a flea market on weekends.
It's perfect for friends who like handicrafts, little trinkets, or painting and the like.
I was attracted to this syringe painting—portraits made with a syringe.
Anyway, there are many painters, with various portraits and such, priced from 5,000 to 10,000 won.
After that, we went to Hongdae's Trickeye 3D Museum.
The museum is in a small alley, underground.
I downloaded an online coupon, so we could get a discount of 3,000 won per person.
There are quite a few works. Some need to be shot lying down, and the effects are really fun.
There's also an optical illusion room where you can take photos that make two people look big and small.
With one ticket, you can also go to the ice sculpture hall.
Everything inside is made of ice. The temperature when I went in was minus 3 degrees Celsius. Stepping in was an instant freeze, hahaha!
But lasting 5 minutes was no problem, because I was focused on taking photos.
When we finished and went upstairs, we saw the Love Museum on the next floor. Its Chinese name is a bit explicit! Haha.
Well, what to do... We still went in. The ticket price wasn't expensive, just for a novelty.
Just look at the photos to know.
Afterward, we looked for food in Hongdae. What's this place called? Pizza on 7th Street?
They have pasta, salad, chicken wings, and pizza.
And free ice cream too!
You can choose cheese-stuffed crust for the pizza.
And the price is not expensive. Friends who want pizza can give it a try.
