As a girl who has lived in Korea for a long time, I am extremely familiar with shopping in Korea. Myeongdong is a shopping paradise; staying at home on weekends would really drive me crazy. Myeongdong has a complete range of brands, and almost every store offers Chinese service. There are also two large duty-free shops, making shopping extremely convenient. I never get enough of shopping there because it's such a great deal! Since I can't go out now, I've compiled a Seoul duty-free shop guide for everyone to save. After the pandemic is over, everyone will surely want to go out and explore, and then this Seoul duty-free shop guide will come in handy!

Shinsegae Duty Free Myeongdong has a wide variety of products and holds promotions every month. Every time I go, I end up with a lot of items without even realizing it. Shinsegae Duty Free and the department store are in the same building. Newcomers might get confused, but no worries—I'll explain it thoroughly today.

The Shinsegae Department Store building is the oldest department store building in Korea. Floors 1 to 7 of this building house the department store, and floors 8 to 12 house the duty-free shop. Here's a little secret: if you can't buy certain shoes at the duty-free shop due to long queues, you can try the department store downstairs! Although the price might be a little higher than at the duty-free shop, you can get a tax refund at the airport. If you're in a hurry to buy something, consider the tax refund option!

Floor 8 features international luxury brands like LV, Dior, and Gucci. These luxury brand counters have plenty of classic items. If you're looking for classic pieces, don't miss the duty-free shop!

Floor 9 mainly sells luxury watches, jewelry, fashion accessories, and trendy clothing brands like MLB and Boy London. The decoration of these counters is elegant and high-end, instantly catching people's attention, and the prices are much more affordable than in China.

But the floor I visit most is Floor 10! Floor 10 is all about cosmetics—you could really spend a whole day there. Not only are the prices reasonable, but there are also plenty of choices. Popular brands for all age groups can be found here. There are not only Korean domestic cosmetics but also various internationally renowned cosmetic brands, as well as many niche brands. I've also purchased the recently popular Clio 8-color eyeshadow palette.

Next is Floor 11. On Floor 11, you can buy fashion accessories and some trendy clothing brands, like the popular Nerdy from the past couple of years. These are all duty-free prices, which is very cost-effective. There are also various cute Korean cartoon characters. Brands like the very popular KAKAO FRIENDS and LINE FRIENDS are available—if you can think of it, you can find it here. Many brands that are hard to find elsewhere are only available at Shinsegae Duty Free.

Floor 12 of the duty-free shop mainly sells electronics, cigarettes, and premium liquor, with a wide range of brands. There are also some niche cosmetic brands that are rarely seen on the market.

On the basement floor, there is a food court with various foods and restaurants. There is everything you need, and the raw fish rice bowl and beef rice bowl are super delicious, as are the other desserts and cakes. When you're hungry, you can go straight to the basement floor to eat.

I hope this Seoul duty-free shop guide will come in handy soon! But even after the situation stabilizes, remember to take protective measures!
