Everyone knows that South Korea is a very famous shopping destination in Asia, and its duty-free shops are renowned for their comprehensive brand range and cost-effectiveness. When visiting Korea, you can't avoid shopping at duty-free stores. What you definitely need is a shopping guide for Shinsegae and Silla Duty Free. So today, based on my own personal experience, I have compiled a shopping guide for Shinsegae and Silla Duty Free, to help you quickly grasp the basic information of Korean travel shopping guides for duty-free shops before you go to Seoul~
1. Shinsegae Duty Free
As one of Korea's three major duty-free shops, the Myeongdong branch of Shinsegae Duty Free is located between the bustling commercial area of Myeongdong and Namdaemun Market. It's very convenient to get to—just a 5-minute walk from Myeongdong Station or Hoehyeon Station on Subway Line 4. The building is divided into two parts: Shinsegae Department Store and Shinsegae Duty Free. Floors 1–7 are the department store, and floors 8–12 are the duty-free shop.
Shinsegae Duty Free is easily accessible, with spacious and bright interiors. Not only can you find suitable products, but the shopping experience is also very comfortable—after all, it's tiring to navigate through crowded and winding spaces.
8F is for international luxury brands, and 9F is for luxury watches, each with separate counters—very high-end and grand. Although the prices are already much better than regular boutiques, due to financial constraints, I can only look T T
10F is a paradise for cosmetic lovers. International famous brands and Korean local cosmetics are all here, with frequent super cost-effective promotions—truly a blessing for shopaholics!
Floors 11–12 are for electronics, Korean local clothing, accessories, and food. The beloved Korean brand Jeonggwanjang is on the 11th floor. Taking it home as a souvenir for friends and family brings great face~
On the 12th floor, there is also a comfortable resting area. The sky garden has fresh air and is especially healing~
Address: 77 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, Floors 8–12 (Chungmuro 1-ga, Shinsegae Department Store)

2. Silla Duty Free
When it comes to a shopping guide for Silla Duty Free, it must be mentioned that Silla Duty Free is one of the three major duty-free shops in South Korea, with numerous well-known cosmetics and luxury brands. Silla Duty Free is a standalone building, divided into B1F for Korean local cosmetics, food, and electronics; 1F for luxury brands; 2F for foreign cosmetics brands; and 2MF for perfume counters.
There are also irregular and regular promotions for watch and jewelry brands, even with 20–30% off—feels like you can save a considerable amount of money, hahaha~
Additionally, the Seoul branch of Silla Duty Free is a separate building near the Silla Hotel, and its location is relatively inconvenient. To get to Silla Duty Free from the city, it is recommended to take a taxi. If taking public transportation, you need to take a shuttle bus from the main entrance of the Silla Hotel.
