Salute to Youth, Find the Former Self – A Small Niche Korea Trip for Eating and Taking Photos
Speaking of Korea, Korea
What impresses you the most?
Korean dramas, fried chicken, or stir-fried rice cakes, haha
For girls, it's more likely lipstick, face masks, skincare products...
Besides the beautiful scenery, you also have to keep a tight grip on your wallet~
So, let's start today's wonderful trip to Korea~
It feels like there aren't many types of food in Korea, not as abundant as in China, mostly small side dishes
Snacks are quite interesting though – beer and fried chicken, banana milk, stir-fried rice cakes, kimchi ramen, etc., giving off a Korean drama vibe
Many places accept Alipay and WeChat Pay, and the exchange rate changes daily, so paying directly by phone is convenient
But cash still needs to be exchanged – better safe than sorry, and some places only accept cash
The subway, bus, and taxi in Korea are quite convenient and reasonably priced; best to take the subway – safety first when you're out
Download Baidu Maps – it's relatively more commonly used
DAY1 Sep 13 Late-night flight departure – Jjimjilbang – Dongdaemun for clothes shopping – Lunch – Dinner at Gwangjang Market
DAY2 Sep 14 Duty-free shop – Myeongdong BBQ – Myeongdong shopping and food – N Seoul Tower
DAY3 Sep 15 Gyeongbokgung Palace – photos nearby – Insadong Ssamzigil – Beer and fried chicken in the evening
DAY4 Sep 16 Ewha Womans University – NANTA Show – Dinner at BON's porridge
DAY5 Sep 17 Gangnam district for photos – Samgyetang – Bukchon Hanok Village – Hanjeongsik
September 12 and 18 were both spent flying, so no extra explanation~
Late-night flight departure – Jjimjilbang – Dongdaemun for clothes shopping – Lunch – Dinner at Gwangjang Market
With tickets and longing, let's go~
Even though it was a late-night flight, we were extremely tired~
But we still couldn't skip our selfies. Hehe~
Arrived at Korea airport around 5 a.m. the next day~
Freshened up right at the airport
Then headed straight to the jjimjilbang (forgot to take a photo of the entrance, so this picture is from online)
Dragon Hill Spa. Address: 40 Hangang-daero 21-gil, Yongsan-gu
Take subway Line 1 to Yongsan Station, Exit 3, about 3-5 minutes walk
The environment is really okay – the largest jjimjilbang in Seoul
Old but huge, the experience was fantastic
Various types of sauna and steam rooms with different effects
Recommend trying their sweet rice drink and baked eggs
Alright, a nice relaxing jjimjilbang session took away the fatigue from the overnight flight
Left a souvenir at the entrance
On to the next stop~
Took a taxi directly to Dongdaemun area
Dongdaemun mostly sells clothes, accessories, etc.
It takes quite a while to browse everything. Everyone can decide for themselves.
Lunch was just a simple meal nearby~
Korean-style bibimbap, side dishes
I noticed that Korean tables always serve ice water. As a Chinese person, I can't handle it haha
So for those sisters who can't drink ice water, bring your own warm water.
Evening came~ After a whole afternoon of shopping frenzy
It's time to find a good place to eat and drink~
Gwangjang Market – a traditional Korean market
Packed with people, all coming to eat delicious food
Side dishes, fresh seafood, lots of it
Green bean pancakes – have a bite!
Live octopus and sundae are super characteristic Korean foods
Especially live octopus – about 60 RMB per serving (I've forgotten some prices)
Also various small items and snacks~
Alright, full now – let's take a group photo, haha!
Duty-free shop – Myeongdong BBQ – Myeongdong shopping and food – N Seoul Tower
Going to the duty-free shop requires some planning
Even if you're traveling independently, go to the front desk to get a shopping card
I won't go into detail about duty-free shopping tips – they're all similar
Better to immerse yourself in Korea's local customs~
As soon as you enter Myeongdong, you get the feeling of 'you need to guard your wallet'
All kinds of food, plus skincare and cosmetics, which are a major Korean specialty
Myeongdong has become quite commercial in recent years
This place serves top-grade Korean beef – after eating, we had to take a photo~
Full stomach, then continue shopping~
It takes a lot of time to fully explore Myeongdong
All the popular Korean cosmetics brands have stores in Myeongdong
Lots of loot!! One last picture, then off to the next stop
Arrived at N Seoul Tower.
One of the must-visit spots
We took a taxi from Myeongdong, climbed some stairs
Took the cable car, typically 20 people per car, standing room
Love padlocks, view of Seoul Tower from afar
Definitely take photos~
Once at the top, you can enjoy the night view of Seoul Tower – highly recommend going at night
The night view is beautiful!
The tower also has souvenir shops, a Teddy Bear store, VR experiences, etc.
Open year-round, 10:00~23:00
A leisurely night, goodnight
Gyeongbokgung Palace – photos nearby – Insadong Ssamzigil – Beer and fried chicken in the evening
Gyeongbokgung Palace is another must-visit in Korea
Compared to China's Forbidden City, it's certainly less grand~
But wearing a hanbok and taking photos around is an extra experience~
There are many hanbok rental shops near Gyeongbokgung Palace; you can choose your own
It was about 120 RMB for 4 hours, including hair styling
Walking around Gyeongbokgung Palace in hanbok
There was even a funny incident – many people wanted to take photos with me
Maybe I'm just too beautiful hahahaha
Wearing hanbok, strolling around Gyeongbokgung Palace
Had a cup of coffee, leisurely walking and looking – very relaxing
Then came to Insadong Ssamzigil
After returning the hanbok, we went to Insadong Ssamzigil – another must-visit
Full of all kinds of boutique items
Your heart will be filled with cuteness and delight
Dinner was at a nearby beer and fried chicken place
Beer and fried chicken were hugely popular back then
Many Korean side dishes are like these small dishes – almost like our breakfast
Ewha Womans University – NANTA Show – Dinner at BON's porridge
Ewha University, a glimpse of campus life
We were just there to take photos~~~
A back-shot killer, wahahaha
A goofy photo with my bestie~
Walked around the streets near Ewha University, had lunch~
Our lunch was quite affordable and decent~
The classic cheese tteokbokki soup is something you can order; the rest was relatively ordinary, so no need to go into detail
Another 'candid' photo taken haha, too much skin smoothing
Full and satisfied, onward to the next stop...
The famous NANTA Show
Amazing! It's a must-see performance
Since photos weren't allowed, I only sneakily took photos at the entrance and during the beginning
If you go, definitely book tickets to watch.
Korea Line Friends – a huge bear – line up for photos voluntarily~ So cute~!!!
Gangnam district for photos – Samgyetang – Bukchon Hanok Village – Hanjeongsik
Another day of photos and eating~ come on~
Gangnam district is an affluent area in Korea, with many trendy boutique stores
This time we just went for photography and a casual stroll
A photogenic place
Even the buildings are stylish – casual photos give a blockbuster feel
Girls who love photos definitely can't miss this place!
We've been in Korea for several days, flying back tomorrow
Samgyetang is absolutely a must-eat!
Found a place nearby – not bad~
This marinated crab has a very Chinese feel – by the sea back home, many people eat it this way
A meal cost about 300 RMB for three people – quite acceptable
Don't order too much; one chicken per three people is enough
Full and satisfied, afternoon itinerary begins.
Address: 28 Gye-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Subway: Anguk Station Exit 3, go straight
It's very easy to find the historic Hanok Village!
Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes~
Start posing for photos in the hanok style~
There are some unique shops in the alleys worth browsing
Forgot to take photos at the time~ so I can't attach any~
Hanjeongsik – a 30-year-old restaurant that never faded
Hanjeongsik is the pinnacle of Korean cuisine.
Hanjeongsik, also known as Korean table d'hôte, 'jeongsik' means full-course meal, originally using the king's court dishes, later adapted by scholar-officials with local specialties to mimic yangban (aristocratic) cuisine.
Address: 19-18 Insadong
Subway: Line 3, Anguk Station Exit 6
Hours: 12:00-22:00 (avoid 15:00-17:00 preparation time)
Everything is pre-set
It's convenient to just order a set meal
Kimchi wrap with seaweed rice – a must-try
Very special~
Marinated crab is also classic. A meal full of satisfaction~
Time to go back~ Heading home with full happiness to continue work and life!
What impressed me most in Korea was eating, eating, eating
Stir-fried rice cakes and kimchi
Are my most vivid memories of Korea
This trip was very relaxing and enjoyable; if you sisters just want a leisurely eating and drinking getaway
This kind of arrangement is perfect.
