Recommended Must-Visit Places in South Korea: The Outlet Near Seoul Worth Exploring
Today, I'd like to share my visit to an outlet near Seoul, South Korea. Compared to stuffy indoor spaces and the busy city center traffic, this place has fresh air, pleasant scenery, and everything you need for a fun and enjoyable time—definitely worth a visit.
The outlet I visited is the Shinsegae Premium Outlet in Yeoju, a suburb of Seoul. Unlike other duty-free shops and outlets, coming here feels like stepping into a large European outdoor shopping center. The stores are nicely arranged, and the environment is elegant. If it's not a weekend or holiday, you could even feel as though you're on vacation, it's so relaxing. I took advantage of the quiet weekday crowd and rode a bus from the Seoul Express Bus Terminal in Gangnam to Yeoju, which took about an hour. From Yeoju Bus Terminal, I transferred to a taxi, and in about ten minutes I arrived at the Shinsegae Premium Outlet in Yeoju.
Recently, due to the pandemic, hand sanitizers are available everywhere from the entrance, and strict controls are in place for people entering and leaving. Everyone must wear masks and keep a safe distance when queuing. Overall, the transportation is convenient, and the pandemic prevention measures are thorough, so you don't have to worry while shopping.
Besides the nice environment, another highlight for me is its super luxurious brand lineup. Many South Korea travel guides mention the hardships of duty-free shopping—there are so many must-buy items in South Korea that a shopping trip can feel like a physical challenge, especially if you have to run between multiple stores. But the Shinsegae Premium Outlet in Yeoju features over 270 brands, allowing visitors to solve all their shopping needs in one place. Brands like Prada, Gucci, KENZO, as well as sports brands like POLO, Adidas, and Lacoste, are all here. With such a strong brand lineup, it's truly second to none among the outlets in the Seoul area! The usual discount rate ranges from 25% to 65%, and the highest weekly discount can reach 80%.
Brands with additional discount events in February include MULBERRY, LUCKY CHOUETTE, TOMMY HILFIGER, and more. Different brands offer extra discounts each month, so be sure to keep an eye out so you don't miss any benefits. Also, friends with UnionPay cards can go to the customer service center to get additional VIP coupons and food vouchers. The customer service center in the EAST area is near TASTE VILLAGE, so after picking up your vouchers, you can enjoy a good meal! Last time I went was in early winter, and I mainly visited the Lacoste store, buying quite a few winter clothes. There was a wide variety of products at great prices—the discounts were fantastic! Shopping at an outlet is both money-saving and joyful.
Furthermore, the facilities at Shinsegae Premium Outlet in Yeoju are the most comprehensive among the Seoul outlets I've visited. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and benches where you can sit and rest, so even if you get tired from shopping, you don't have to worry about finding a place to relax. You can shop happily without any burden, even if you're alone. Not to mention lockers, nursing rooms, parking lots, and children's play facilities—whatever services you need, they have them.
If your companion isn't into outlet shopping, you can check out the ceramic shops in Yeoju, which are very close. There you can buy ceramics full of Korean style. There are also very unique accessories. If you like them, you can come take a look. In short, the scenery everywhere is pleasing to the eye, and shopping can be a delightful experience for both body and mind~
Although it's still difficult to travel to South Korea recently due to the pandemic, you can save this travel guide for later~ Once the situation improves and you come to South Korea again, you can use it directly! If you're still in South Korea now and don't want to shop online or feel uneasy about indoor shopping in cramped spaces, take advantage of holidays or weekends to enjoy a satisfying shopping spree at an outlet near Seoul! Beautiful scenery, delicious food, and discounts—everything you want is here. Give yourself a break and unwind—why not?
