Which Shopping Malls Are There in Korea? Which Shopping Centers Are There in Korea? Recommended Shopping Centers in Korea
Over the weekend, I visited a popular shopping center in Korea—Hyundai Department Store Yeouido. For those wondering where to go shopping in Korea, you might want to take a look. This Korean shopping mall will definitely make your trip worthwhile and rewarding. It covers my entire must-buy shopping list for Korea. Getting off at Yeouido Station on the subway, I already felt the sea of people like the morning rush hour on a workday. Unlike the workday Yeouido, the weekend Yeouido is filled with many young faces—all fashionable and trendy guys and girls. I recommend this popular shopping center in Korea for having fun, eating, drinking, shopping, and buying—it's simply too joyful.
From the moment I entered the department store, I felt the difference from other Korean department stores. The first thing that caught my eye was an artificial waterfall spanning the first to third floors, making it feel like a paradise. Although the beautiful scenery made me want to stay a bit longer, I quickly headed to the stores to clear off my must-buy shopping list for Korea.
First, I went to the B2 floor. This is a shopping paradise for the younger generation, gathering not only the leisure and sports brands loved by the MZ generation but also various niche Korean street fashion brands and pop-up stores of emerging fashion brands. There are also many bag and accessory shops. This place feels like a complete collection of the must-buy shopping list for Korea. Different pop-up stores allow you to get the latest fashion trends and further enrich your must-buy shopping list for Korea.
The B1 floor is the food court of Hyundai Department Store Yeouido. Unlike other Korean department stores, this is a dining space that combines a creative park with a self-service supermarket. Cuisines from all over the world gather here, freely selectable, sure to satisfy everyone's taste buds. There are also various snack food trucks everywhere, and coffee shops with a strong Instagram vibe, providing tired shoppers with a great place to rest and take photos. After visiting, I realized that besides bringing a must-buy shopping list for Korea to Hyundai Department Store Yeouido, I also need to prepare a must-eat food list.
Floors 1 to 4 feature common shopping categories such as luxury goods, cosmetics, fashion, and home furnishings. The seamless integration of artistic design and nature is everywhere, making Hyundai Department Store Yeouido stand out among many Korean department stores. It has become a popular shopping center in Korea most favored by Koreans, where they can take photos, shop, and enjoy food during weekend leisure time. For us foreigners, there are multilingual self-service kiosks everywhere, even supporting Simplified Chinese—it's incredibly convenient. With the introduction of a friend, I also applied for a membership card exclusively for foreigners—the K Card. With the must-buy shopping list for Korea and the K Card in hand, I became a happy 'modern person.'

With Christmas approaching, Hyundai Department Store Yeouido is already filled with festive atmosphere from top to bottom. On the 6th floor, they even brought in a Christmas village—huge Christmas trees, snow cabins, a Christmas market, etc. This Christmas, coming here would be a great idea too.
