Where to Go for a 2-Day Seoul Trip for Trendsetters?
It's the best season for travel again. While the sun is shining and the breeze is gentle, why not arrange a spontaneous trip? Grace recently compiled the must-visit places for a 2-day trip to Seoul, South Korea. If you want to follow in the footsteps of celebrities, experience modern urban life, go shopping, enjoy panoramic city views, and feel Korea's unique cultural charm, then head to Seoul. Visit the trendy hotspot Seongsu-dong to experience popular local shops; go to Lotte World Tower for a 360-degree view of Seoul; stroll through the artistic village of Seochon, grab a coffee at a bookstore, and savor its bohemian vibe and ancient culture; and don't forget to wear a beautiful school uniform and take sticker photos!
Day 1: Seongsu-dong - Lotte World Tower
Day 2: School Uniform Sticker Photos - Seochon
When visiting Seoul, you must go to Seongsu-dong, the trendsetter's favorite! It brings together world-famous brands, emerging local brand stores, pop-up shops, and curated concept stores. Wandering around here, you can't help but feel relaxed and happy. Here are my recommended stores worth visiting!
1. Complex Cultural Space Seongsu Yeonbang
This is where BTS member Jimin held his birthday party! It was renovated from an old factory and is full of charming little shops, such as a handmade caramel specialty store, lifestyle concept stores, accessory shops, brunch cafes, and more.
My favorite is the glass greenhouse-style plant café Cheonsang Gaok on the third floor. With its all-glass doors, windows, and roof, it exudes artistic vibes whether under bright sunlight or twinkling night lights.
2. DOOR to Seongsu
Convenience stores common in Korea also have upgraded versions! For example, this GS25 Seongsu-dong premium flagship store has shelves stocked with a dazzling array of products. At the self-service coffee area, you can enjoy coffee, or try wine and beer, plus super tasty bread and fried chicken. It's a casual café by day and a romantic bar by night.
3. Peaches Taoyuan
This is the flagship store of the lifestyle brand Peaches, themed around car culture. The pink exterior is full of girlish charm, and the decor is unique, incorporating cool car elements. It combines exhibition and café spaces. Besides various vehicle exhibitions and apparel, the burger joint DOWNTOWNER and doughnut shop Knotted are also very popular brands lately!
4. Must-Eat Food: The Legendary Seongsu-dong Pork Back-Bone Potato Soup
A restaurant recommended by Korean national food figure Baek Jong-won! "Pork back-bone potato soup" refers to a spicy Korean soup dish made by simmering bone-in pork, potatoes, radish greens, and perilla leaves. It can be eaten with rice for any meal or paired with alcohol as a snack.
Transportation to Seongsu-dong: Exit 3 or 4 of Seongsu Station on Subway Line 2.
Another must-visit in Seoul is Lotte World Tower! This skyscraper is located in Seoul Special City. Lotte World Tower is South Korea's tallest building with 123 floors and a total height of 555 meters. The observatory at the very top offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Seoul.
At the 500-meter-high Lotte World Tower observatory, enjoy a cup of coffee in the clouds, experience thrilling rides, see an exhibition, and bring back souvenirs for fond memories.
We ordered some snacks and desserts at a restaurant across from Lotte World Tower, and from there we could clearly see the towering tower opposite.
Transportation to Lotte World Tower: Subway Line 2 (Jamsil Station, Exits 1 and 2) or Line 8 (Jamsil Station, Exits 10 and 11).
If you love taking photos and want to relive the youthful atmosphere of school days, you must try wearing a school uniform for sticker photos! Tie your hair into a ponytail or a bun, rent a variety of stylish school uniforms, and use the photo machine with perfect beauty filters and tons of fun frames. Any choice looks great and produces amazing pictures! It's the best sticker photo experience ever!
I particularly love this area of Seoul because it harmoniously blends old shops, hanok (traditional Korean houses), and newly opened stores. Since people live here, you can easily find heartwarming scenes everywhere. Seochon Village, located west of the iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace, is one of Seoul's oldest neighborhoods.
Strolling through the maze-like alleyways, you'll slow down at the murals and paintings on the walls, which beautifully capture the village's tenderness and simplicity. Several shops are worth checking out; if you go, be sure to step inside.
1. Dawoo Bookstore
After purchasing a drink or souvenir at the entrance, you can enter Dawoo Bookstore. Here, you can sip a drink while enjoying the cozy atmosphere of the bookstore.
It's a place that feels serene from the very entrance, and the old artifacts everywhere evoke a sense of nostalgia. The intact old items, interior decor, and antique books give a warm feeling, as if faithfully recording the old Seochon Village.
2. Archivist Café
As one of Seoul's top three Viennese coffee spots, you must order their signature Viennese coffee here. The rich aroma of coffee mixed with milk, topped with a silky, sweet cream, is unforgettable.
3. OFR Stationery & Accessories Shop
This is a bookstore and stationery/accessory shop with a vintage style. It's an independent bookstore featuring used books and English/French titles. On the first floor, besides books and posters, there are OFR logo T-shirts and canvas bags; the second floor has some vintage accessories and a shoe section. It's great for photos—any shot gives off a bohemian vibe!
4. COSMIC MANSION Fragrance Shop
This is a relatively niche Korean perfume brand. COSMIC MANSION emphasizes health and eco-friendliness, using pure natural ingredients. It mainly sells scented candles, diffusers, fabric sprays, and fragrance sachets, and is loved by Korean designers and young people. It's a must-visit popular store in Seoul! The products highlight natural and pure sensations, combining charming scents with simple, stylish black-and-white packaging. The healing fragrances are irresistible, and I bought some as souvenirs for friends. Plus, their design is incredibly aesthetic, perfectly matching my taste; any shot looks like an Instagram influencer post!
Transportation to Seochon: About a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station on Subway Line 3.
You must visit Seoul at least once—you can shop to your heart's content while experiencing the charm of Korean culture. Let's go this spring!
