Checking into an 'Art Gallery,' Experiencing a 'Luxurious Feast'
As a hotel lover, the greatest travel joy is experiencing different hotels. Each hotel blends local culture and characteristics, and staying in a hotel allows you to understand a city more quickly. This time I flew to Seoul specifically to experience Paradise City.
Paradise City is near Incheon Airport, very convenient for transportation. If you fly through Incheon Airport, you can stay here. Paradise City has everything for eating, drinking, and entertainment—it's an integrated resort where you can happily spend several days.
After arriving at Incheon Airport, the distance from the airport to Paradise City is very short, and there is also a free shuttle bus. At Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Level 1, Exit 3C, cross one road, and you can see the hotel bus stop sign on the roadside. Buses run every 30 minutes, and the ride takes about 5 minutes to reach the hotel.
This time I stayed at Paradise Art Hotel in Paradise City. After the bus arrived at the hotel, we walked through the hotel lobby. It is said that there are over 3,000 artworks and art installations within Paradise City. Walking through the hotel, you can see various exhibits along the way, giving you a strong artistic atmosphere here.
The high-end luxury pool villas featured in many popular films and TV shows, such as the variety show 'Single's Inferno' and the drama 'Hotel del Luna,' were filmed here. Many Korean celebrities also come here for vacations, and it's a popular Instagram-worthy spot.
Entering the hotel lobby feels like walking into an art museum. At the center of the lobby is Yayoi Kusama's iconic work 'Great Gigantic Pumpkin.'
Passing through the first-floor lobby, you can reach Paradise Plaza, which is located at the center of Paradise City. The plaza has many restaurants, cafes, gift shops, and more. Here you can shop, taste food, and enjoy art exhibitions.
On the side of the plaza, the tall black glass windows belong to Paradise Art Hotel, where I stayed. I'll introduce it in detail later.
First, let's take a look around the plaza. In the center of Paradise City's plaza, you can see artist KAWS' 6-meter-tall wooden sculpture 'TOGETHER,' featuring two iconic dolls embracing each other, like a landmark of the plaza.
Bai Yi Ge is an art exhibition hall in the plaza. Guests staying at the hotel can visit for free. It displays artworks from around the world. Those who enjoy exhibitions will love it here.
Here you can see Jeff Koons' 'Gazing Ball' series—'Farnese Hercules.' Walking into the plaza, the sculpture catches your eye from a distance. The blue ball placed on the right shoulder of the statue is especially eye-catching.
Take the elevator on the side of the plaza to the third floor to reach Paradise Art Hotel. The elevator entrance is somewhat hidden, only noticed by guests. The hotel has excellent privacy. Paradise Art Hotel is designed in a luxurious classic style, a boutique hotel with only 58 luxury suites. The entire hotel features a dim, atmospheric design, and no minors are allowed to stay, offering a quiet and comfortable experience.
The interior design of Paradise Art Hotel is very luxurious, as if stepping into the Korean drama 'Penthouse.' Fans of Korean dramas will also find this hotel very suitable.
The guest rooms are relatively spacious compared to other hotels in Korea. The windows offer a wide view of the spa and amusement park, and you can also see planes taking off up close without any noise disturbance. I really liked the air purifier in the room, which runs 24 hours a day, creating a comfortable air environment.
On the first floor of the hotel is the SERASÉ bar and restaurant. Through the side glass curtain wall, you can overlook Paradise Plaza. You can enjoy a drink here while checking in. The design of SERASÉ restaurant is luxurious and classic, offering creative dishes made with local Korean ingredients, providing richer textures and flavors based on traditional Korean cuisine.
The SERASÉ restaurant's design is very luxurious and classic, like stepping into a medieval castle. Choosing a seat by the window for dinner, you can enjoy the light show outside while dining—a very special experience.
The dishes are beautifully presented. The Korean beef has excellent texture, and the cold noodles are also quite distinctive.
There are many entertainment facilities within Paradise City. WONDERBOX is an indoor family theme park. Guests staying at the hotel can get a 30% discount on tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the self-service ticket machines at the plaza entrance—just scan your room key to see the discounted price.
WONDERBOX adopts the concept of a 'night amusement park.' It features some thrilling rides as well as facilities suitable for children, such as a carousel. With the ticket wristband, you can enjoy unlimited rides on all facilities without queuing. Besides rides, there are also scheduled clown performances and games where you can win prizes.
My favorite was the Seamist Spa. The design of Seamist combines romantic European-style spa treatments with traditional Korean sauna culture. It is a new-concept spa space with a futuristic design. Here you can experience Korean sauna, and the spa's design is stylish and modern. Seamist also offers a 30% discount with your room card.
At the water park and sauna area of the spa, remember to wear your swimsuit. The water plaza on the first floor is very beautiful and spacious. On the side of the plaza is the Fantasy Water Spa, with three-sided screens showing different environmental atmospheres, creating an immersive and healing experience.
Around sunset, you can go to the infinity pool on the top floor to watch the sunset, with brilliant red evening clouds—very romantic. At the changing room entrance, you can pick up sauna suits. Wearing the sauna suit, you can go to the sauna and spa area to experience a traditional Korean sauna.
This vacation experience was perfect. The only regret is that I didn't get enough—still left wanting more. I'm already looking forward to staying here again next time.
