Every March to May is spring in South Korea, and the cherry blossom season typically falls from late March to April.

This year, the cherry blossom blooming period in South Korea is expected to be 1 to 7 days earlier than usual.

The earliest blooming cherry blossoms are on Jeju Island, expected to bloom around March 24, while Seoul is expected to bloom around April 3. Cherry blossoms usually peak about a week after blooming; considering this, Seoul's peak will be after April 10. At that time, all cherry blossom trees will be covered in pink blossoms, making it the best time for cherry blossom viewing. 1. Yeouido Hangang Park

Yeouido Hangang Park is a famous cherry blossom spot in Seoul, located in the very center of the city. During cherry blossom season, Yeouido is packed with people. Besides Koreans, travelers from all over the world visiting Korea on independent trips also come here to see the cherry blossoms. Aside from cherry blossom viewing, Yeouido Hangang Park is most known for picnics! Speaking of cherry blossom viewing in Seoul, one of the famous spots is Seokchon Lake near Jamsil Station. When the cherry blossoms at Seokchon Lake are in full bloom, photos taken from above look spectacular. 3. Namsan Park

Namsan Park was once a military defense site during the Joseon Dynasty. Now it has shed that role and become a wonderful place for Seoul residents to enjoy nature and take a stroll. In April, the cherry blossoms at Namsan Park arrive with spring, and a cherry blossom festival is held here every year. The soft pink cherry blossoms blanket the mountain like snowflakes. The park has a cable car and several comfortable hiking trails. From the top, you can overlook the surrounding scenery of the city center, and the cherry blossoms in full bloom lift your spirits. Besides cherry blossoms, Namsan Park has many other plants. In spring, a hundred flowers bloom, making it a great place to see a different side of Seoul beyond fashion and trends. 1. Cherry Blossom Festival: Jinhae Gunhangje Festival

Transportation from Seoul: Take an intercity bus from Nambu Bus Terminal (on Seoul Subway Line 3) to "Jinhae Station." Alternatively, take the KTX high-speed train to "Masan Station," then transfer to Bus No. 760 bound for Jinhae.

2. Jayu Park

Jayu Park is Korea's first Western-style park. It is vast, slightly elevated, and densely forested, making it great for walks. The famous Korean drama "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" (Goblin) was also filmed here. Walking toward Jayu Park, you'll see a large red Chinese-style archway. Pass through the archway and follow the steps to enter the park. In April, cherry blossoms on both sides bloom inward, forming a pink tunnel. Among Korean cherry blossoms, the Incheon area is the last leg of the grand relay. If you missed the cherry blossoms in Seoul, consider arranging a day trip to Incheon.

Transportation: Take the Gyeongin Line to Incheon Station; after exiting, go up the slope in front of the exit to see Bukseong-dong Chinatown; pass through Chinatown to enter the park. Alternatively, take the subway to Dongincheon Station; from the underground shopping street, go out in front of the Daehan Bookstore and walk up about 300 meters to see Hongnimun Gate; pass through it to enter Jayu Park.
