Love You in Early Summer: Sleep Soundly at 'Peace of Mind Hotels'

With epidemic gradually under control and improving in China, tourism is slowly recovering, and business travel is also picking up. I've clearly noticed recently that my WeChat Moments are filled with more people visiting Shanghai for work. Are Shanghai hotels reassuring? Can you stay with peace of mind? This is probably a question on many people's minds. As a gold ambassador for the BTG Homeinns Love Confession Season, I specially spent last weekend with family and friends to experience the Yitel Premium Hotel (Shanghai Xuhui) in the bustling Xuhui district of central Shanghai. Here's my freshly produced review, hoping it gives you a glimpse into the situation.

The hotel is located at 124 Caobao Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, right in the heart of the city's commercial hub. Directly opposite is Guilin Park Station on Line 12, and Guilin Park is just next door. It's about 3 km from Xujiahui and 0.5 km from the Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center, making it super convenient whether you're on a business trip, shopping, or bringing the kids.

Yitel Premium Hotel (Shanghai Xuhui) belongs to the BTG Homeinns Group, which advocates 'a curated business travel experience.' The hotel is decidedly business-oriented, with smart, advanced services. There's even a delivery robot and takeaway lockers—the robot fascinated the two little ones.

In the post-pandemic era, with sudden changes in circumstances, BTG Homeinns rolled out the concept of 'Peace of Mind Hotels.' Right at the front desk, there are Diversey hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes—Diversey being a world leader in cleaning and hygiene—giving you an instantly reassuring first impression.

The lounge area is bright and relaxing, with geometric patterns that have a great design feel.

Complimentary tea and snacks are offered: refreshing lemon water, perfect for summer.

My child downed it in one go. The snacks included egg rolls and candies that kids love. The little details show the hotel has done a great job, not only living up to its curated business travel ethos but also being very family-friendly.

After checking in at the front desk, you walk through this corridor and take an elevator to your room—key card access ensures security.

To create a reassuring home on the road, the hotel has made many professional efforts. In the room, there's a detailed log of when, who, and which areas were disinfected, plus disinfecting wipes and equipment. The wipes use the world-leading AHP patented technology, eliminating 99.99% of harmful microorganisms in just one minute.

The towels in the bathroom are soft, and there are even children's toiletries.

The mattress is incredibly comfortable, and the plush wellness pillows are loved even by kids. I actually had a restful night's sleep.

Welcome fruit and late-night snacks are also thoughtfully provided.

The desk by the window lets business travelers work sitting down, and kids can use it for drawing and writing.

My little one used marker pens to write '520' on paper, feeling the love from this BTG Homeinns hotel.

You can tell from many details that the hotel provides a just-right, effective business travel lifestyle. There's even a dedicated business lounge on the ground floor, where you can work, read, have tea, or hold meetings.

The first-floor restaurant is tastefully decorated and cozy.

Afternoon tea is offered, with fresh fruit, small pastries, salad, and bread.

It seems simple but actually considers nutritional balance. Both kids really enjoyed it.

On a lazy weekend afternoon, the whole family sat together, chatting over a relaxed tea break, feeling totally at ease and enjoying warm family time.

The hotel's breakfast buffet is quite varied, with made-to-order noodles, Chinese buns and fried dough sticks, Western toast, bread, cereal, and fruit like grapes. Notably, starting June 8, BTG Homeinns launched the 'Curated Business Travel Meet Noodles' food festival at 1,000 outlets nationwide, incorporating local flavors into breakfast. The first stop features authentic Wuhan dishes, led by hot dry noodles, supporting Wuhan through food.

Isn't it great to enjoy a genuine Wuhan breakfast in Shanghai? How does it taste? Just look at the kids' faces.

Right opposite the hotel is Guilin Park, an old, established park in Shanghai. Admission is only 2 yuan. Inside, there are small bridges over flowing water, winding paths, rockeries, pavilions, flowers, and lawns—perfect for walks with kids.

Overall, the hotel's attention to detail is professional and thoughtful. As a guest with children, staying at Yitel Premium Hotel (Shanghai Xuhui) meant sleeping well, eating well, and having fun. These are not only the top three concerns for business travelers, but also what matters most to families like ours when traveling.
