Summer vacation arrived right on time, and I took Longlong, who just finished his finals, out for some well-deserved relaxation. When it comes to his favorite spot, Longlong’s first choice is always an amusement park. But during the scorching dog days of summer, wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a place with air conditioning, all kinds of rides, and great food? With these wishes in mind, our first summer outing was set on Baoyan Paradise. We spent an entire day there, and Longlong still didn’t want to leave. It’s a place where kids have a blast and parents can fully relax, making it a rare treat during the holidays. Which attractions won over both Junjun and Longlong the most? What are the must-sees? Let’s highlight the key spots—don't miss out!

Baoyan Paradise Visit Tips

Baoyan Paradise has five floors offering food, fun, and entertainment all in one place—you can easily spend a whole day here. Address: 11, Lane 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, Shanghai. It’s easily accessible, and parking is free for the first 4 hours.

Before you go, keep these things in mind:

1. Both adults and children need to bring swimwear for the water attractions.

2. All visitors, both kids and adults, must wear non-slip socks. When playing on the slides, long sleeves and pants are required to avoid scrapes—this is very important!!!

3. The water park and petting zoo are open from 11:00 to 18:00.

4. Opening hours (Mon–Fri) are 9:30–20:30.

1F · Dynamic VR Park

After scanning tickets and entering, we tried out VR on the first floor. The immersive experience immediately got our adrenaline pumping.

1F · Cute Pet Park

After warming up, a bunch of adorable little animals drew Longlong in. The whole petting zoo felt like a forest where you can interact with the animals up close. Put on gloves and you can pet and feed them.

The fluffy alpaca was so cute—with its hairstyle, it looked like a cool dude, though it was also a drooling glutton.

Facing all sorts of animals, Longlong showed no fear. He reached out, petted, and fed them with focus and care.

1F · Mega Combo Slide Park

This is Baoyan Paradise's internet-famous attraction. Slides of various slopes offer a great chance for kids to test their courage. The 90° vertical slide drops from 7.3 meters to the ground in just 4 seconds—super thrilling. Safety first though: all equipment is padded, safety nets are in place, and be sure to follow the staff’s instructions.

1F · Seafood Workshop

When you’re tired, you can take a break at the Seafood Workshop on the first floor and enjoy some seafood. Longlong was most interested in the various sea creatures and spent a long time studying them by the tanks.

2F · Happy Bumper Cars

On the second floor, there are many interactive attractions. Longlong’s favorite bumpy cars had him competing joyfully with other kids.

2F · Block World

The little engineer got to work, moving large blocks left and right, quickly building a city wall. It showed his LEGO skills were paying off.

2F · Naughty Castle Playground

A sea of ball pits sparked my inner child; I couldn’t help but take lots of photos. With all the fun equipment, I felt like a kid again and just wanted to bury myself in those colorful balls.

2F · Mommy’s Nail Salon & Parent-Child Craft Room

There’s also a nail salon just for moms on the second floor—while the kids play, you can enjoy a free manicure, which is really thoughtful. Unfortunately, it was so popular we couldn’t get a slot. So, Longlong and I went to the adjacent parent-child craft room and together made a memorable keepsake.

3F & 4F · Year-Round Constant-Temperature Water Park

The most memorable part was the water park on the third floor. Baoyan Paradise brought a full-scale water park indoors, complete with all kinds of water attractions, including a 5-meter-high, 32-meter-long rainbow slide. It was nothing but splashing fun and laughter. We changed into swimsuits and splashed around, fulfilling Longlong’s little dream of going to a water park.

5F · Rooftop Grass Slide & Children’s Pony Ride

On the open-air rooftop of the fifth floor, there are dinosaur-themed adventure activities and a pirate ship. These high-up thrill rides ratchet up the excitement away from the ground.

The grass slide is another internet sensation. Though not real grass, the unique slope design adds plenty of fun.

Besides the free attractions, at the pony ride area on the 5th floor, for 50 yuan you can ride a pony around. With a protective helmet and vest, and under staff guidance, Longlong adored the gentle pony so much he went for a second round before stopping.

We spent the whole day at Baoyan Paradise and reluctantly left right at closing time. During summer break, it stays open until 20:30, so you can give your kids an unforgettable day here. Don’t forget your swimsuits for the water park—one day is definitely not enough!
