Men herded cattle on the plains; the hoofbeats of horses and cattle striking the earth created distinctive rhythms, inspiring the brave Pampas people's music. Whipping, drumming, and the heels of leather boots stomping the ground – these two traditional elements, clapping and stamping, are never absent in dance history.
