Indonesia-Singapore Honeymoon Trip (Memoir)
In 2106, I started taking my marriage leave. Unfortunately, my luck was bad that year. Previously, those who married late could enjoy 23 days of leave, but by the year I got married, it was canceled to only 3 days. Having 20 days off is rare for public employees. So we signed up for a tour to Indonesia and Singapore. The cost for two people was about 10,000 yuan.
This was also our first time going abroad. We first transited in Singapore, then flew to Indonesia, then back to Singapore, and finally from Singapore back to Sichuan. The photos are old and couldn't be found, so the pictures are random ones I found online.
In Indonesia, we visited Turtle Island, Jimbaran Beach (one of the top ten beaches in the world), Lembongan Island, Tanah Lot Temple, etc. In Singapore, we stayed only two days and visited Sentosa, Merlion Park, and other attractions. Later, I also went to some places in Southeast Asia. Looking back and comparing, I feel that the cost of living in Indonesia is similar to that in China, while Singapore is a bit more expensive. Five yuan is equivalent to one Singapore dollar.
A few simple impressions of Indonesia: 1. The roads are almost entirely Japanese cars (Southeast Asian countries mostly have Japanese cars). 2. You need to be careful going out at night in Indonesia. 3. The foreigners in Indonesia are mostly Australians; many people come here for vacation (I envy them). 4. The shrimp in Indonesia is very delicious and fresh.
A few simple impressions of Singapore: 1. There are many local Chinese, communication is in Mandarin, and there are Chinese restaurants for meals, making it easy to adapt. 2. Although the city is small (about the size of Chengdu), it is well-developed, deserving its reputation as a Garden City. 3. Tap water is directly drinkable, and the rates of seawater desalination and sewage treatment are very high. 4. There are no counterfeit goods in Singapore, so you can shop with confidence. One more thing: the local tour guide proudly told us that the vegetables and meat they eat are specially imported from our Sichuan, grown without pesticides.
