Far East Hospitality Group Continues Regional Expansion Momentum in First Quarter
· Signs Strategic Alliance Agreement with ARTOTEL Group in Indonesia
· Opens Second Village Hotel in Yokohama, Japan
SINGAPORE - Media OutReach - 21 April 2021 - Building on the momentum of opening two hotels in the first quarter of 2021 (The Clan Hotel Singapore and Quincy Hotel Melbourne), Far East Hospitality Group today announced that it will continue its regional expansion plans.
Partnership with ARTOTEL Group
To kickstart its expansion plans, the local operator has signed a strategic alliance agreement with ARTOTEL Group, a leading boutique hotel and lifestyle group in Indonesia. The group offers a wide range of services, including integrated hospitality, dining, creative event management, and art distribution. Under the terms of the partnership, both parties will collaborate on operations, branding, and training, and support business growth across the market.
"Singapore and Indonesia are key source markets for each other's tourism industries. Therefore, we see strong synergies between the two countries," said Mr. Gong Jin Fu, CEO of Far East Hospitality Group. "We currently have no presence in Indonesia, while ARTOTEL Group has an extensive business network there. From a brand architecture perspective, it fits quite well into a market segment we have not yet entered. With the discussion of a 'travel bubble' between the two countries, we look forward to leveraging our combined offerings to attract both domestic and regional markets."
As part of the agreement, Far East Hospitality Group and ARTOTEL Group will present themselves as "co-branded" within their respective distribution channels and ecosystems. Far East Hospitality Group will also work with ARTOTEL Group to expand its footprint in Indonesia, the largest market in Southeast Asia, and capture significant market share. Both parties will also engage in training exchanges to share industry best practices and increase industry knowledge and expertise across the market.

Far East Village Hotel Yokohama, scheduled to open in June this year, will become the second hotel under Far East Hospitality Group and the Village brand in Japan. This opening comes nearly a year after the opening of Far East Village Hotel Ariake in July 2020. The 277-room hotel will be managed by Far East Hospitality Group in a hotel management contract with Far East Organization.
Located in the centre of Yokohama, the hotel targets business travellers. It is a 5-minute drive from the central business district and a 3-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station and Kannai Station. Guests staying at the hotel can also easily access the Minato Mirai area, visiting attractions such as the Cup Noodles Museum and Colette Mare shopping mall. Japan's largest Chinatown is also nearby, featuring temples, vintage paifang gates, traditional cuisine, and a variety of festive elements, allowing visitors to eat, drink, sightsee, and have fun like a local. Sports fans can also catch a baseball game at the nearby Yokohama Stadium.
Looking ahead, with the opening of Oasia Resort Sentosa in the second half of 2021, Far East Hospitality Group will expand into the resort and spa sector.
This hotel, with 191 rooms including suites, wellness superior rooms, and deluxe rooms, will become the fourth hotel managed and operated by Far East Hospitality Group on Sentosa Island. Guests will have the opportunity to experience a healthy lifestyle, achieving balance in body, mind, and spirit, and can participate in spa treatments, fitness programmes, mental and physical exercises, and activities close to nature. During their stay, the hotel will provide guests with many items, including a wellness journal, a self-care checklist, and guided meditation audio.
Mr. Tang Yaoquan, CEO of Far East Orchard Group, commented on the expansion plans: "Our goal to grow the hotel business through Far East Hospitality Group has not been weakened by the pandemic. We are actively developing in markets where we are optimistic about the prospects of the hotel and tourism industries, looking to the future and preparing for the eventual economic recovery."
