Log bridges, suspension bridges, rope bridges, arch bridges—every bridge serves a practical purpose, allowing us to cross rivers and connect peaks. China is the hometown of bridges, since ancient times known as the 'Kingdom of Bridges', with development in the Sui Dynasty and flourishing in the Song Dynasty. Looking around the world, there are iconic bridge structures everywhere, which are also must-visit spots for travel. This article will take you to unlock the most worth-visiting bridges around the world. Collect them now!

01 Tower Bridge, United Kingdom

In the late 19th century, the commercial area of East London developed rapidly, and the traffic across the River Thames far exceeded the capacity of existing bridges, making the construction of a new bridge urgent. Completed in 1894, the bridge features two towers built of granite and steel on both banks, divided into two levels. The upper level supports the towers on both sides, while the lower level allows pedestrians to cross and vehicles to pass. The bridge itself can be raised to allow ships to pass. From its completion, Tower Bridge has become a landmark on the River Thames and holds a high status in the history of world bridges. 'Spider-Man', '007', and 'Harry Potter' have all filmed here.

There are three places worth visiting at Tower Bridge. The first is the exhibition hall inside the north tower, which tells the history of Tower Bridge from its initial design to completion. The grand Victorian-style steps inside the tower freeze time in 19th-century London.

The second part is the most popular glass walkway of Tower Bridge, which goes through the exhibition hall. Standing 42 meters above the River Thames, looking through the glass floor at the pedestrians and vehicles on the bridge and the ships on the river, if you're lucky, you can also see the bridge below folding open.

The third part is the engine room located on the south side of Tower Bridge, where you can see well-preserved engines and various mechanical equipment and learn the story of how Tower Bridge operates.

02 Brooklyn Bridge, United States

Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO Walking Tour

Fans of the TV series '2 Broke Girls' will surely be impressed by the following scene because it appears at the beginning of every episode. Besides '2 Broke Girls', 'Desperate Housewives', the movie 'The Dark Knight Rises', and 'Once Upon a Time in America' also filmed here.

The round trip between Brooklyn and Manhattan, whether by car or subway, cannot avoid the Brooklyn Bridge. Built in 1883, it is one of the oldest cable-stayed bridges in the United States. The Brooklyn Bridge is not just a tourist attraction; it is also an indispensable part of life for native New Yorkers.

Walking across the bridge offers another experience: sea breeze, Manhattan skyline, overlooking ships, and gazing at the night view.

The full crossing of the Brooklyn Bridge without stopping takes about 30-40 minutes.

03 Pont Neuf, France

Next to the Île de la Cité, where Notre-Dame de Paris is located, stands the oldest bridge in Paris. It was the first bridge built after Henry IV moved the capital back to Paris and began the Bourbon dynasty, over 400 years ago. Interestingly, this old bridge, completed in the early 17th century, has a whimsical name: 'Pont Neuf' (New Bridge). At the time, it was said that if Paris were a world, the Pont Neuf would be its capital.

Once at Pont Neuf, you arrive at the Latin Quarter, the most quintessential part of the Left Bank. Here, you often encounter musicians with guitars or accordions. Nearby are also many famous 'bouquinistes' (secondhand booksellers along the Seine), which are perfect for strolling, hunting for books, or buying vintage posters.

Taking a boat trip allows you to experience the scenery of Pont Neuf up close on the Seine. At the point where Pont Neuf crosses the tip of Île de la Cité, there are three equestrian statues of Henry IV. Jacques de Molay, the Grand Master of the Knights Templar, was executed by burning at the stake in 1314, which also gives Pont Neuf a tragic touch.

04 Sentosa Skybridge, Singapore

AJ Hackett Sentosa Giant Swing

The Sentosa Giant Swing is touted as Singapore's hottest attraction, allowing visitors to enjoy the stunning beaches and coastline of Sentosa Island from a height of 40 meters above the ground. Here, there is a giant aerial swing that can accommodate two to three people. The seat rises to a height of 40 meters, and the swing descends at full speed of 120 km/h, giving an exhilarating screaming experience!

There is also a skybridge here, connecting two 47-meter-high towers. The walkway offers visitors a wide view, and on the ultra-high-level walkway, you can feel like you are strolling in the clouds.

Use a bridge to connect two places, use a Go City Pass to connect the world.
