This Time Truly 'Spectacular' Singapore! The Best Hotel in Singapore Has Surprisingly Big Discounts for Chinese New Year?
Located at 1 degree north latitude, it has a summer-like climate all year round—how many people dream of this as a perfect holiday destination!
Amidst the skyscrapers, you occasionally encounter exquisite galleries and small concerts—this is the mark of culture rooted in the city;
Colorful traditional buildings contrast with the distant high-rises, where multiple civilizations collide to spark new ideas;
Bak Kut Teh, Rojak, Laksa, Curry Fish Head, Chili Crab, Nasi Lemak... you can eat a different Nanyang delicacy every day for a week without repeating!
I wonder if the above captures the general impression of Singapore in everyone's mind? When you are in the lounge of the Pan Pacific Singapore, overlooking the Marina Bay scenery, with jazz playing and a glass of champagne in hand, slightly tipsy, I feel this experience is the "most" Singaporean. Recently, while organizing my computer, Pandy stumbled upon many photos taken during a trip to Singapore, and memories came flooding back. With the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai and the extremely cold weather during this Chinese New Year, staying at home has made me miss the distant scenery again.
It's been five years since my last trip to Singapore. The first stop, of course, was to see the Merlion! It is a national symbol of Singapore, appearing on almost all Singapore travel posters. The Marina Bay facing the Merlion is perfect for a leisurely stroll—with the ocean on one side and a modern city on the other, a sense of harmony between humans and nature arises, just like the vibrant energy that Singapore brings.
Singapore has long been known as the "Garden City," and Gardens by the Bay is the "garden within the garden." It consists of three gardens—Bay East, Bay South, and Bay Central—including cool conservatories, outdoor gardens, and vertical gardens. Plants and flowers from around the world are collected here, making it a paradise for nature lovers and gardening enthusiasts. Pandy's personal favorite is the Cloud Forest. On a 35-meter-high Cloud Mountain, various lush plants are grown. Wandering through the Cloud Mountain truly feels like exploring a highland wonderland.
Pandy highly recommends Universal Studios Singapore. It has fulfilled the movie dreams of countless people: first, check in at "New York Street" to take stylish movie-like photos; then, take a boat ride in "Jurassic Park" to explore the dinosaur world. If you want something thrilling, you must try the Transformers "Battle of the Dual Track" roller coaster. But what I fear the most is "Revenge of the Mummy"—an indoor roller coaster where, in the pitch-black space, there are not only scary things but also the coaster moving forward and backward unpredictably, leaving you completely unprepared!!!
Additionally, there is the world's largest aquarium, S.E.A. Aquarium, which takes me on a journey 20,000 leagues under the sea. Adventure Cove Waterpark is perfect for experiencing the joy of getting wet in Singapore's year-round summer weather. It's definitely a great destination for family trips.
If you want to experience the exotic atmosphere of Singapore, I personally recommend "Little India," the gathering place for the Indian community in Singapore. As soon as I stepped into Little India, I was amazed by the colorful architecture—bold in color yet beautifully matched, with interesting graffiti here and there. The air is thick with the aroma of curry and Indian spices. Even if you've already had your fill in Chinatown, I strongly suggest trying the Indian roti prata here—it's super authentic!
Speaking of accommodation in Little India, you can check out the PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road. It is a member of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group Singapore. The hotel style is refreshing and elegant—love at first sight. Be sure to visit the outdoor pool to enjoy the sunset; the sparkling water surface and the silhouettes of palm trees create a perfect summer vacation vibe for photos. The best part is its location—just a one-minute walk to Little India, with a mall and various restaurants downstairs.
As night falls, Singapore's dazzling nightlife is just beginning! Arriving at Clarke Quay, the bars and restaurants converted from former cargo warehouses have become the most beautiful scenery along the riverbank, perfect for a drink. By the way, from Clarke Quay, you can take a river cruise along the Singapore River and finally reach the Singapore Flyer. This Ferris wheel reaches a height of 165 meters, equivalent to 42 stories! You can get a panoramic view of all of Singapore, and on clear days, even catch a glimpse of Malaysia.
Just a few steps from the Flyer is the hotel we stayed at on our last trip: Pan Pacific Singapore. We chose to stay here not only because it is located by Marina Bay with great views, but also because of its excellent location—it's super convenient to get to any attraction in Singapore. It took us less than half an hour by taxi from Changi Airport. The hotel is also close to various transportation options and has a large mall, perfect for someone like Pandy who loves eating and shopping.
The hotel was fully renovated in 2012. The triangular atrium is grand and elegant, and the lobby bar, made up of bar and sofa areas, is both stylish and private. The room we stayed in had a view of the Singapore Flyer, and the floor-to-ceiling windows allowed me to enjoy the Marina Bay scenery from morning to night—truly a blessing! Pandy's favorite place is the 4th floor, which not only has a gym, spa, and children's playground but also an impressively large outdoor pool. Surrounded by tropical plants, swimming and sipping a drink there perfectly captures the vacation ambiance.
The hotel I stayed at last time is considered a flagship of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group Singapore, with the best location and design. It can even be regarded as one of Singapore's landmarks! The Pan Pacific Hotels Group has won the "Best Regional Hotel Chain" award consecutively from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts also received the "2021 Leading Lifestyle Hotel Brand in China" honor. As one of Asia's most renowned hotel groups, Pan Pacific Hotels Group is headquartered in Singapore and operates 50 hotels across 29 cities in Asia, Oceania, North America, and Europe. Its brands include Pan Pacific, PARKROYAL COLLECTION, and PARKROYAL. In China, Pan Pacific is located in five cities: Xiamen, Beijing, Tianjin, Ningbo, and Suzhou.
The Pan Pacific Suzhou, which was renovated last year, showcases classical Chinese beauty in Suzhou-style gardens.
Pan Pacific Tianjin, by the Haihe River, offers views of the riverbanks on both sides.
Pan Pacific Ningbo, located in the port city, allows you to experience the ancient and modern scenery of the Maritime Silk Road.
Pan Pacific Xiamen, adjacent to the Gulangyu ferry terminal, offers views of the sea and sky.
Pan Pacific Beijing is situated in the bustling Xidan commercial district.
Now, with the global pandemic not yet over, we cannot travel or gather in crowds. But staying in a boutique hotel to enjoy the scenery and cuisine has always been a travel and vacation style Pandy highly recommends! Not long ago, the Singapore government launched the "Rediscover Singapore" platform to make friends planning to visit Singapore feel more assured and safe! Once global travel fully reopens, Pandy's first destination will be Singapore. As a local Singaporean enterprise, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has been launching a series of promotional activities, presumably preparing for the recovery of tourism after the pandemic. This Chinese New Year, Pan Pacific has rolled out various hotel promotions, from domestic to overseas: rooms starting at 48% off, dining starting at RMB 12.12, and wellness packages starting at RMB 99—truly great deals! Everyone can keep an eye on them!
How big are the discounts for this promotion? Let me give a few examples: The deluxe city view king room at Pan Pacific Tianjin has a rack rate of RMB 1,026/night, but the New Year price is only RMB 499/night! Another example: The Haitian Building at Pan Pacific Suzhou offers a 4-6 person set meal with a rack rate of RMB 1,074, but the New Year price is only RMB 488!!! In short, after browsing the official website, I feel there are plenty of benefits and discounts!
If you are interested in Pan Pacific hotels overseas, I recommend two: PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore, which won the "Asia Green Hotel Award" in 2021. Over 50 types of lush greenery and flowers run through the hotel building—it feels like not just a hotel experience but also a forest exploration; the other is Pan Pacific Vancouver, which won the "2021 Canadian Hotel Award." This hotel is located on the cruise ship terminal side of Vancouver Harbor, and from the rooms you can enjoy the harbor views—truly delightful.
If you want to book the Pan Pacific Chinese New Year special offers, you can do so through the Pan Pacific WeX mall and Feizhu platforms.
