Snowy Mountains and Lakes of Kanas, Xinjiang

Kanas has always been a travel destination I longed for. In early autumn, I set foot on this mysterious land, with endless anticipation.

In the early morning, as I entered the scenic area, the valley was shrouded in mist. Sunlight filtered through the clouds and sprinkled on the lake, causing gentle ripples on the water surface. The water of Kanas Lake was so clear that you could see the bottom, like a giant mirror perfectly reflecting the blue sky, snow-capped mountains, and forests. Along the lakeshore, the primeval forest featured a mix of conifers and white birch trees, with occasional glimpses of small wild animals moving through the woods.

Hiking along the lake, I arrived at the Fish Viewing Platform. Overlooking the entire lake from here, the water displayed a gradient from deep blue to emerald green, like a watercolor painting crafted by nature. The distant snow mountains were gilded by sunlight, and the snow on the peaks sparkled in the gentle breeze. With the sounds of wind and birds in my ears, my soul found complete relaxation in this tranquility.

In the afternoon, I chose to take a cruise across the lake. As the boat moved slowly, the primeval forests on both banks seemed to drift past, and the sound of water lapping against the hull was soothing. When the boat reached Moon Bay, the lake wound along a curved channel like a crescent moon set in the lush valley, breathtakingly beautiful.

At dusk, the rosy glow spread across the lake, and the sky shifted from blue to orange-red. Standing by the shore, the distant snow mountains, forests, and lake interwove into a magnificent painting. I sat quietly on a rock by the lake, breathing the pure air, feeling the grandeur and peace of nature. The beauty of Kanas lies not only in its spectacular scenery but also in the state of mind that merges with nature.
