Arriving at the scenic spots: The Bund

The Bund, also known as Zhongshan East Road, stretches about 1.5 km along Puxi. To its east flows the Huangpu River, while to its west stand 52 architecturally diverse buildings — Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque, and a blend of Chinese and Western styles — famously called the "Exhibition of International Architecture." At the Bund, besides admiring this architectural showcase, you can soak in nostalgic sights like the Waibaidu Bridge, Wusong Road Sluice Bridge, and Shilu Pu. Other attractions include Huangpu Park, Chenyi Square, the Urban Sculpture Group, Lovers' Wall, and the Sightseeing Tunnel linking Puxi to Pudong.

That evening we checked into the Shanghai Yunyue Hotel.

Next, we traveled from Suzhou to Wuzhen Xizha. Xizha lies alongside the ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, formed by 12 islands encircled by clear waters, accessible by ferry. The area preserves extensive Ming and Qing dynasty buildings. Xizha Old Street runs east-west, threaded by countless crisscrossing canals and adorned with 72 ancient stone bridges of varying styles, authentically revealing the timeless charm of a Jiangnan water town.

That evening we stayed at the Wuzhen Zhenshui Resort Hotel.

We then headed to West Lake. Su Shi's poem "Drinking at the Lake, First Clear then Rain" captures it best: "I'd like to compare West Lake to the beautiful Xi Shi, who always looks charming whether lightly or heavily made up." Long settled as an enduring metaphor, West Lake still stands gracefully like a gentle Jiangnan maiden, a quiet smile gracing the ancient city of Hangzhou through millennia. On June 24, 2011, West Lake in Hangzhou was officially inscribed on the World Heritage List.

That evening we checked into the Hangzhou Guangyin Hotel.

Later, we took an evening flight back to Guangzhou, concluding our 4-Day East China 3 Cities + Wuzhen Group Tour (4-Diamond) · Chocolate Garden, Wuzhen Afternoon Tea, Flights — a true luxury leisure journey.
