Sydney's Largest Family Easter Event: Fairfield Easter Fair

The first day of the Sydney Easter holiday in 2022 was April 15. Our family drove to Fairfield, Sydney, where an Easter Fair was being held.

Apart from the Royal Agricultural Show, the Fairfield Easter Fair is Sydney's largest family Easter event.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show has a long history and has grown into one of Australia's biggest annual celebrations since 1823, attracting over 800,000 people each year. The event's revenue is mainly invested in agricultural projects, competitions, education, youth development, and rural construction in New South Wales.

There were so many people—almost every family had children in tow. The venue was packed, and very few people wore masks. I felt a bit out of place wearing mine.

At the event, activities such as rustic agricultural competitions, diverse animal exhibitions, splendid fireworks displays, and thrilling car stunt performances took turns on stage, showcasing Australia's unique rural culture while drawing rounds of applause from the audience.

Since childhood, I had thought stilts were native to China—images of people walking on stilts during the Lantern Festival and crowds cheering remain vivid. It was my first time seeing foreigners walking on stilts in Australia. It turns out stilts are not exclusive to China, and foreigners are not bad at walking on them either.

The most popular activity among children was feeding the sheep.

There were all kinds of toys everywhere; the venue felt like a children's shopping mall.

A staff member held a strange-looking creature, allowing visitors to get up close.

All kinds of amusement rides were available, along with an exciting high-altitude skateboarding performance. And of course, there was delicious food—it was simply too much fun!
