📍Beethoven Pasqualati House

🎫 Original ticket price: €5.00, FREE entry with Go City Pass

Last year marked the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. This musical genius opened a new era in music history, expressing the joys and sorrows of the world through notes with talent beyond ordinary people.

In 1787, Beethoven went to Vienna to consult Mozart. After hearing his music, Mozart predicted that one day Beethoven would astonish the world. This also began Beethoven's connection with Vienna, and he later made the city his center of life and creative inspiration, never leaving.

Beethoven was known as a "moving enthusiast," changing residences more than 60 times during his 35 years in Vienna. "Pasqualati" is one of the master's apartments in Vienna. He lived on the fourth floor of this building for 8 years. During this time, he composed his Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, and Eighth Symphonies, as well as the opera Fidelio.

Today, the house still preserves many of Beethoven's relics and various artworks related to his life and work, such as the piano he used, handwritten manuscripts, and a portrait of Beethoven by Willibald Joseph Mähler.

📍Johann Strauss Residence: €5.00

🚌 Blue Line: Praterstern stop

🎫 Original ticket price: €5.00, FREE entry with Go City Pass

The Strauss family created many famous waltzes. They were adept at combining their works with cultural regions, giving them lasting popularity and influence. Some joked that the Strauss family were the coolest guys on the dance floor.

Johann Strauss, as the eldest son, was influenced by his musician father (Johann Strauss I) from a young age. At nineteen, he performed publicly with a band of 15 people, showing extraordinary musical talent. He composed around 400 waltzes in his lifetime and is known as the "Waltz King."

Johann Strauss lived in this apartment with his first wife for seven years. It was here that he composed the unofficial Austrian national anthem, "The Blue Danube Waltz."

His apartment acts as a shrine to the world-class composer, displaying some of Strauss's personal collections, instruments, and furniture. From the billiard table to the piano, step into Strauss's life and delve into the spiritual world of the "Waltz King."

📍Schubert's Birthplace

🚌 Red Line: Liechtensteinstraße stop / Blue Line: Sigmund Freud Museum stop

🎫 Original ticket price: €5.00, FREE entry with Go City Pass

Schubert was a contemporary of Beethoven and was deeply influenced by him. However, unlike the musically brilliant but reclusive Beethoven, Schubert was outgoing and enjoyed mingling with the common people. As a "fan" of Beethoven, his talent was recognized by the "chosen one" Beethoven: "There is a divine spark here!"

In 1797, the great composer Franz Schubert was born in this house called "The Red Crab." The apartment was small, but the artistic family lived happily together. From the gentle and lively tone of most of Schubert's popular works (such as "Serenade" and "The Trout"), we can hear this musical genius's passion and romance for life.

Today, it has become a museum about Schubert, recording his life moments and his early musical development. Little City tip: Before leaving, don't forget to see the musician's iconic reading glasses.

🚌 Red Line: Staatsoper stop
