On Sunday, April 12, several families planned to meet up and chose Wangfu Restaurant inside Bailu Plain Film Studio. The environment is lovely, and we could also wander around the film studio.

Bailu Plain Film Studio is located in Lantian County and was first built in 2013. The main attractions include Bailu Village, Zishui County Town, scenic trails, an amusement park, and more, covering an area of 700,000 square meters. It is a cluster of antique-style buildings constructed based on Chen Zhongshi's novel *White Deer Plain*. The TV series *White Deer Plain* was mainly shot here.

The film studio is more than 40 kilometers from Xi'an. Following the navigation, you usually take the Fuyin Expressway and then switch to the Guanzhong Ring Road, which brings you directly to the south gate of the studio. The south gate is the main entrance, located at the foot of the mountain. To reach the main attractions, you normally need to take an electric cart or a sightseeing elevator to go up the mountain, though walking up is also possible if you don't mind the effort. The electric cart is 15 yuan per person, and the sightseeing elevator is 20 yuan per person. There is no entrance fee for the scenic area—Lantian County's attractions are all free, which is a nice touch.

If it's your first visit, I recommend entering through the main gate and taking the outdoor sightseeing elevator up. This is said to be the longest outdoor escalator in Asia, split into two sections, taking you directly to the mountaintop. After exploring, you can simply walk down the mountain. Since our group was large and most of us had been here before, we drove from Fangzhicheng straight along Shuangtang Road, via Bailu North Road, Dizhai North Road, County Road X101, and Qianwei Town in Lantian County, directly to the north gate of the scenic area. The north gate is up on the mountain, not far from Zishui County Town and other spots. The Wangfu City Wall Inn, which we had booked, is also in this area, so after getting out of the car, we just walked right over.

First, a map of the scenic area.

The north gate entrance of the film studio.

The gate tower at the north gate.

After entering the north gate, we walked along the main path.

Magic Princess was not open; it looked like an amusement attraction.

Of course, the Shaanxi-style Terracotta Warriors cannot be missed.

Looking back at the route we came from, taking a photo as a memento.

In the distance, there is a slide attraction.

Inside the scenic area; below is the Guanzhong Giant Screen Cinema.

The old county government office still has some buildings inside.

Wangfu Restaurant—you can only enter if you are dining.

Inside Wangfu Restaurant, there are standard rooms for overnight stays, or you can book an entire courtyard.

Lounge area inside the restaurant.

An outdoor dining area, next to Erhu Theater.

Streets of Zishui County Town.

Guanzhong Earthquake Experience Museum—we didn't go inside.

Bai Jiaxuan's house, with an entrance fee, so we didn't go in.

Inside Lu Zilin's house.

Inside the ancestral hall at Bailu Village.

Heiwa sesame cakes—Heiwa and Tian Xiao'e are quite popular here.

Gate tower of Zishui County Town.

Erhu Theater puts on a timed performance of *Erhu Defends Chang'an* every day.

A sightseeing helicopter in front of Erhu Theater Square; not many people ride it.

Bailu Pagoda, built to suppress Tian Xiao'e's spirit.

Overlooking Zishui County Town and Bailu Village in the distance.

The weather was fine, and Nanshan in the distance was faintly visible.

Bailu Plain Film Studio is, on the whole, quite well built. If you've watched the TV series *White Deer Plain*, you'll recognize many familiar scenes here. The studio also has other attractions, including an amusement park, the Guanzhong Giant Screen Cinema, scenic trails, and more. These are on the way down the mountain, but since we entered and exited from the north gate, we didn't pass through them.
