Xi'an Songcheng Eternal Love: Experience a thousand-year legend in just one day—your social media will be flooded!

Xi'an has wonderful cuisine and even more outstanding tourist attractions: the Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Pool, Shaanxi History Museum, Bell and Drum Towers, Ming City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Muslim Street, and more. Over the years, I've visited Xi'an many times and checked off all its once-hot tourist spots. This National Day holiday, what made me decide on a whim to pack up and travel over 700 li to Xi'an wasn't the food or scenery, but a new internet sensation that was blowing up my social media: the Xi'an Songcheng Performing Arts Kingdom.

The Xi'an Songcheng Performing Arts Kingdom is located at Debao Gate, Expo Park, in the Chanba Ecological District of Xi'an. It's a comprehensive tourism area combining shows, sightseeing, and vacationing.

The area is quite large. The moment you enter, you're greeted by a magnificent Tang Dynasty atmosphere. Whether it's the street layout, architectural style, or decorative design, you can glimpse the splendor of the Great Tang. Strolling through the City in the Sky, Chang'an Gate, Songcheng Tower, Chang'an Square, and Songcheng Square, you can't help but feel as if you've traveled back in time to the heyday of the Tang Dynasty.

Every step brings a new view, with scenery changing at every turn. Tree-lined paths, Jinxiu Lake, Songcheng Tower, and Chang'an Tower complement each other beautifully—stylish and full of character.

Even on a drizzly day, the liveliness was undeniable. The place was buzzing with excitement. Multiple indoor and outdoor shows like "Throwing the Embroidered Ball to Choose a Groom," "Katyusha," "Guozhuang Dance," "Street Parade," and "Ancient-Modern Flash Mob Show" created one climax after another throughout the park.

Above all, the absolute must-see, the very essence of the Xi'an Songcheng Performing Arts Kingdom, is the show called "Xi'an Eternal Love." This performance is hailed as "a show you must see in your lifetime." It's another masterpiece by director Huang Qiaoling, following the Songcheng Eternal Love, Lijiang Eternal Love, Guilin Eternal Love, and others.

The show lasts 60 minutes and is divided into acts like "The Light of Civilization," "The Islet of Ba River," "Yu the Great Taming the Flood," "The Glorious Tang Dynasty," and "The Silk Road." Each act tells a different story, but they all share one theme, presenting Xi'an's historical tales, myths, legends, and cultural background through singing, dancing, acrobatics, and other art forms from a unique perspective.

Cutting-edge sound, light, and stage technology, combined with a blend of virtual and real elements, creates a dreamlike atmosphere and a powerful visual impact. The unique stage design breaks down the boundaries between audience areas, and with hundreds of performers giving their all, plus stunning on-site special effects, the audience is immersed in the ebb and flow of Chang'an's history.

Unless you're sitting in the theater, you simply can't imagine the jaw-dropping spectacle of 3,000 tons of water gushing out, hundreds of cubic meters of yellow sand sweeping toward you, the stage turning into a vast ocean, and the theater transforming into a desert. Throughout the performance, my heart kept bursting with silent applause.

If you're not in a hurry, I suggest not rushing off after the show. Wander around a bit more, enjoy the scenery, stroll through the park, and savor some local food. When night falls and the lights come on, the entire Xi'an Songcheng Performing Arts Kingdom transforms into another kind of brilliance.

Rows of bright light strips, clusters of red lanterns, and groups of uniquely shaped neon lights glow in a riot of colors, dazzling and enchanting. As you walk among them, your imagination soars, as if you've truly traveled back in time to the Tang Dynasty.
