A Must-Visit for a One-Day Trip in Xi’an: Xi’an Songcheng Performing Arts Kingdom – An Epic Artistic Feast Spanning Time and Space

Seizing the last moments of the National Day holiday, I brought my family to the long-awaited Xi’an Songcheng Performing Arts Kingdom to explore the unique shops in the scenic area, savor Guanzhong cuisine, and watch the ‘Xi’an Eternal Love’ show.

Having seen the Yichun Eternal Love and the Zhengzhou Yellow Emperor Eternal Love, I was most looking forward to the Xi’an Eternal Love, as Xi’an is one of my favorite cities. After finishing my work, I finally had the chance to visit.

Xi’an is not only the ancient capital of Chinese civilization and the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, but also home to one of the world’s oldest and most brilliant civilizations. Since ancient times, it has been a land passage connecting Eastern and Western civilizations for trade and cultural exchange. Over the years, it has garnered worldwide attention for its long history and profound local culture.

A must-see show in a lifetime – ‘Xi’an Eternal Love’: From ‘Light of Civilization’, ‘Islet on the Ba River’, ‘Yu the Great Taming the Waters’, ‘Great Tang Glory’, ‘The Silk Road’ to ‘Great Revival’, the combination of virtual and real stage techniques immerses the audience. The entire performance showcases not only the splendor of Tang Dynasty Chang’an and the legendary Silk Road with its vast deserts, but also the romantic poetry of willows along the Ba River. Over a hundred outstanding performers present an epic artistic feast spanning time and space, perfectly recreating the peak of Tang Dynasty prosperity for the audience.

In addition to the must-see large-scale performance ‘Xi’an Eternal Love’, the scenic area also offers many other wonderful shows: Silk Road Joyful Song, Chang’an Golden Age, National Beauty and Heavenly Fragrance, Encountering the Flying Apsaras, The Flower Girl, Tossing the Embroidered Ball, Chinese-Style Flash Mob, as well as unique performances like Desert Camel, Hanging Xuanzang, Li Taibai Playing Chess, and the Cleaning Department Street. Detailed program names, times, and locations are displayed on electronic screens throughout the area.

Walking through the scenic area, the detailed scenes create an illusion of traveling back to the Tang Dynasty’s golden age. On Guoyan Street and Yanyun Street, various shops line the roads, offering not only traditional intangible cultural heritage handicrafts but also food, beverages, costume shops, accessories, gift shops and more.

The Silver Beach, tree-lined paths, and splash pool are especially suitable for children to play. Beside Silver Beach is Jinxiu Lake; at night, the beautiful lake water and Chang’an Tower reflect each other, creating an exceptionally lovely scene.

More high-tech venues, performance halls, and parent-child parks will open soon in the scenic area. In the future, when visiting Xi’an, apart from the Grand Tang Ever-Bright City, the Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang, and the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, there will be another must-visit joyful check-in spot.
